Gekiranger: Observation by ellipsesbandit - It's been awhile since I've read Gekiranger fic, but... I can never resist the lure of Jan/Retsu fic! Especially when it's amusingly set from Natsume's point of view and how it's about training to reach her own goal and how she goes about that. It's a very cute little thing with a couple of great lines. (Implied Jan/Retsu.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: Vying for Your Touch by allira_dream - I really enjoy fics (well, Dino and Hibari fics, I mean) that have a rough edge to them, that are almost a little painful to read because of the intensity of their characters and the violence that surrounds them, when they're in the right author's hands. And this one really worked for me, there's a real sense of immediacy with the descriptions and the way their relationship is physical, it's not easy, but there's an attraction there. And, of course, I love violent little demon Hibari when seen through Dino's eyes, which this fic did marvelously. (Dino/Hibari, somewhere between R and NC-17.)

Ouran Koukou Host Club: Put A Smile On Your Face by measuringlife - I was randomly in the mood for Kyouya/Haruhi today and saw that this had been posted and just had to go read it. It's short at only 215 words, but it didn't need to be any longer than it was, it was a perfect little ficlet about learning how to smile real smiles with these two characters. It didn't try too hard and instead worked just the way it was. (Kyouya/Haruhi.)

Star Trek XI: untitled by Meg - [Note: Just go ahead and assume there are spoilers for the movie in the fic and this rec.] So, Meg has this idea for a series of fics (that I am shamelessly encouraging because my heart beats as one with her) where one character drops the l-bomb and things pretty well go pear-shaped from there. It makes me happy. Especially when reading it for Spock and Kirk and just. Yeah, kind of bawling after this. (Kirk/Spock.)

Star Trek XI: This Story Is Not Humorous by chaletian - [Note: Just go ahead and assume there are spoilers for the movie in the fic and this rec.] Oh, I feel like I could read this fic series forever. This fic is all about the in-jokes you find on any give ship like this, which in and of itself is fun and delightful to read, but it also uses the opportunity to do a couple of other things. It touches on Spock's understanding/lack of understanding about the humans around him, it touches on this new crew establishing themselves and making connections, while still staying connected to the spirit of the original crew. And it's just. A damn fun read. ♥ (No warnings/pairings.)

Star Trek XI: The Sixth-Day Flower Child by Renata - [Note: Just go ahead and assume there are spoilers for the movie in the fic and this rec.] I have this thing. To the point it may be kind of a sickness. And yet I completely do not care because I spent the entire time I read this fic supressing the urge to wriggle around with joy. Kidlet Spock. It is so adorable and delightful and precious and full of squee-inducing that I want to explode with love. It's perfect, it doesn't take too long getting into it, it just gets right to the good stuff and it does a lovely job keeping the feel/spirit of the movie and hitting that need I have for fic like this. Kidlet Spock fic. It makes me happy in my soul. (No warnings/pairings.)

Star Trek XI: You Can Choose Your Friends by chaletian - [Note: Just go ahead and assume there are spoilers for the movie in the fic and this rec.] I continue to be utterly delighted at how many different themes this author can put into this ficverse--this time it's about big, happy families and the fueds that naturally get started up when you have a large crew like this. I love all the little scenes, I love that they're just snippets of a day in the life sort, but that they all contribute to a greater whole. And also that final scene was ace, I could just see it happening without even having to try. (No warnings/pairings.)

Harry Potter Doujinshi (scanslated) - Yawa Ame - I picked this doujinshi up on a whim, just because I was wandering around and happened to be in the mood to read a few tonight. I was surprised at just how much I really fell in love with this one--sure, part of it is because it's Sirius and Remus and I love the anime/manga-style take on them (shut up, all of you), but it's also this really heart-warming, adorable story about Sirius being afraid of lightning/thunder and the way it sort of makes Remus feel better about his own secret. The art is adorable and really pretty on certain pages, it has this really almost quirky sort of charm that I like put together with HP fanworks. This was exactly the kind of thing I want out of HP fandom. ♥ (This is gen, but if you like Sirius/Remus, you should like this.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (raw) - Gozen Reiji no Kakumei - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm should be pretty easily joinable.] ....I have no idea what to make of this doujinshi. Dino seems kind of evil in it, but then he seems like he's actually not evil and I'm not sure how far into non-con territory this goes, because the whole thing was very weird. By the end, I think I was sort of onboard (but it's doujinshi, that's a whole separate issue of characterization for me) enough to be able to recommend it. But what I'm really here for was the art! It's not the usual style I'm used to, early in the beginning it looks almost simple or plain, but as soon as Dino shows up, it gets kind of really pretty in its own way, Dino is especially kind of amazing here. I'm not sure why that is, something about the intense look in his eyes or the tilt of his head, it's just kind of really hot. And, oh, man, his hair, too. *__* Dino totally was working for me visually in this doujinshi, but possibly I'm biased. Well, whatever. I loved it, so there. XD (Dino/Hibari, NSFW.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated) - Children's Day - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm should be pretty easily joinable.] ....I never know what I'm going to get half of the time I download new doujinshi, but I try to give nearly ever D18 doujinshi a shot. And I'm glad I do because then I get total gems like this one, where Dino realizes that Hibari's birthday falls in the middle of Golden Week, specifically on Children's Day. He goes to wish Hibari a happy birthday. This goes about as you'd expect. I can't even tell you how hard I sporfled at Hibari's expression on the final page of this or how much I was totally gleeful over the usual Dino/Hibari dynamic as Dino was trying to cajole him into a better mood. Just. Yes. ♥ (Dino/Hibari.)

One Piece Doujinshi (scanslated) - I Love Body. Love Body. - as;ldkfjaslkj Robin x Sanji doujinshi? Do want do want do want. Especially when she's using her Devil's Fruit powers because Sanji got an eyeful of her (by accident) and so now it's her turn to see him all flustered. And boy does she. I will never get tired of the idea, I love it with all my heart. It's not going to be for everyone and you probably have to have a healthy appreciation for bottom Sanji and a light degree of kink, but, well. I have my weaknesses and this doujinshi shamelessly played on them. :| Plus, the art is super cute! It's almost simple at times, but I really liked it, it's very... well, adorable! (Robin/Sanji, NC-17.)

Togainu no Chi Doujinshi (scanslated) - Shi ni Itaru Yamai - Apparently, today is my day for an ecclectic selection of doujinshi to read. I'm... not really entirely sure what happened in this story, but it's Shiki/Akira and I've long had a soft spot for them, so I figured I'd pick it up. And it's been a bit of a slow day, so the extra sex scenes were nice and the dreary, depressive mood the author created was interesting, and the art was nicely done and... well, that's about all I expect out of Togainu no Chi doujinshi, so it succeeded for me. :Db (Shiki/Akira, NC-17.)

Vampire Knight Doujinshi (scanslated) - Secret Garden - ;alskdfjaslkj VAMPIRE KNIGHT DOUJINSHI. AND IT IS KANAME/ZERO. YES. Like, I totally ship Zero/Yuuki the most, but I have a very strong fondness for Kaname and Zero as well, not the least of which because Hino is totally encouraging the fans to think dirty thoughts about them. The doujinshika did a really solid job of capturing the feel of Hino's manga style, which I appreciated, it was a little mess, but still really pretty. The real gem is in the storyline, though, because you can tell the author totally has a sense of humor about herself and her plot--she's totally mocking herself for wanting to give Zero cat ears and a tail, which just makes me love her all the more. I totally sporfled my way through this, especially the page with Ichiru. Just. This is totally what I'd do if I could draw doujinshi. ♥ (Kaname/Zero, brief Ichiru/Zero.)

- Sailor Moon/Rozen Maiden/Disney - [ Cosplay Site ] - I'd seen a couple of the Serenity and Cosmos images from this cosplayer, but it wasn't until mklutz's post that I properly went back to look at everything and realized just how much amazing cosplay was here. The costumes are kind of amazing, but even more than that it's the way the pictures often set a mood and actually look really good! My favorites are the Princess Serenity images just because that's my favorite character and favorite design, but I would probably say that the Sailor Saturn images are probably the best done, the cosplay is kind of stunningly good there. In some of them she looks almost like a doll, which works with Hotaru's look, imo. (The Sailor Cosmos images are really, really good, too, wow.) But it's not just that! There's also Princess Jasmine (who is still one of my favorite Disney princesses) and Rozen Maiden and even more. This was so neat to see. (No warnings/pairings.)

- Gundam 00 - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This artist has a style that's sort of... I'm not quite sure how to describe it, other than to maybe say that it's a little old-fashioned, perhaps. Something that reminds me of the mid-1900s somehow. It's not usually my favorite kind of style, but occasionally art like this catches my eye because the artist puts in some amazing details or because it's been awhile since I've looked at a G00 site or because there is a ton of art on the site, like this one. There are especially some fantastic Graham illustrations, but I also loved the one of Tieria with wings on his arms and the group image of the Over Flags was amazing. Even if the art style doesn't initially appeal, I still recommend continuing on with the site, I was really impressed with it by the time I was done! It does get more into a traditionally pretty (but still kind of amazing) style on the log pages, if you want to skip ahead to them. (Mostly gen, but a smidge of Billy/Graham and Lockon/Graham.)

- Sailor Moon - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I am not a big Seiya/Usagi fan, even though I understand where it comes from and see that it's relatively popular. And I mention this because I want to impress what an amazing site this really kind of is to get me over my disinclination towards the pairing--because the art is often stunning here, the colors and lines and details are amazingly smooth and beautiful to look at. And, yes, there's a strong focus on the pairing, but there's also some beautiful stand-alone art on the site as well, the two Kakyuus back to back is amazing, the Princess Serenity image is amazing, there's an amazing Haruka/Michiru image, the Eternal Sailor Moon image is amazing, and so on. Even the sketches and the log art is amazingly done and it's worth going through if you're a fan of all the characters, even if you're inclined (re: pairings) the same way I am. ♥ (Some Seiya/Usagi, some gen.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - There's really not a whole lot of art here, but I couldn't resist recommending it anyway because... well, the art is actually really solid, I enjoyed the handful of art that's here, even though it's comics, which I usually skip over. It's nicely detailed, the lines are clean and pretty, and somehow it just... well, okay, I know a lot of it is that it's Luo-Tao/Liu friendly, but it's also that there was a Hero/Maybelle image! Not that it's my ship, but I hadn't seen that before! I love new things like that! So, I had to cave. But it really is a fun little site. <3 (Some potential Luo-Tao/Liu, some gen.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Oh, crap, I couldn't resist this site, either. There's not a ton of art here and yet... it's Liu art! Pretty Liu art! And some awesome sketches! There's a couple of two-part log illustrations that are group images (well, one is, the second is of Hero and Liu) that were kind of fantastic and totally made me cave! The details are nice, the colors are pretty, and even I have to admit the Hero/Liu art is really cute. ....I couldn't resist. (Hero/Liu.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I know part of the problem with the sites I've been recommending lately is that I'm simply just getting to the point where I've seen the majority of the bigger sites, so I'm only finding smaller sites now. And yet. Sometimes I love them almost as much as the bigger sites because they gave me a great fix that day or because I'm forced to take more time and really look them over, so I see a bit more with them. I think this site benefits from that, from finding a bunch of sketches and doodles that were just really cute enough for me to like a lot. There's so much potential with this artist and I love sites like that! Also, there is an image of Asad and Liu fighting together. Excellent. (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Oh, now this is what I've been wanting to see today! There's not a ton of art here, but there's a decent-ish amount and it's all kind of really fabulous stuff. The details on each of the images is amazing, they look professional level and they're fantastic concepts/poses, each one of them feels totally epic or like it's telling a mini-story or is just really amazing to look at. If I had to pick a favorite, I think I'd probably choose the one of Manaril putting a crown of flowers onto Asad's head, but the group image of the Citro Village characters (including Dirk) was also really sweet. I totally adored this site. ♥ (No warnings/pairings.)

Ha ha ha, okay. I've been rather disintersted by the manga for some time now but I still can't say "no" to Dino/Hibari fic. It's indeed an addiction.

The Millefiore arc kind of has really crap pacing, imo, so I haven't read in ages, either. But fic/art/doujin? NEVAR ENOUGH, OKAY.
