- Gundam SEED/Prince of Tennis - PINK CUBE [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I'm mostly recommending this site for the Gundam SEED art because it just completely and utterly NAILS the G-SEED style with the colors and the CG effect. It's most especially noticable with the eyes that looks SO REMINISCENT of the anime's style, but the artist is solid all around with her lines and coloring, too. I think my favorite illustration from the site is actually probably her Lux illustration, but it's mostly an Ashuran/Kira pairing, which I have a strong soft spot for. >__> The artist's style really was just a perfect FIT with the characters. I'm not as fond of her Prince of Tennis fanart, but that's mostly because it's not the same incredible fit. That said, it's actually still really pretty and I really like the way the artist draws their hair, Fuji and Ryoma especially. FujiRyo is such a rare pairing that finding an artist that's actually GOOD is an extra bonus. Plus, I fecking love her oekaki art for the Tenipuri characters and the more I went through the site, the more I started to kinda like the whole Gundam SEED-meets-Prince of Tennis style the Tenipuri art had. XD ....and the artist really makes me want to watch Sokyuu no Fafner now. >__> (AshuranxKira and FujiRyo.)
- Prince of Tennis - Robin_food [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I'm not sure how to describe why I like this site so much, other than to note that I just really like the artist's more current lineart. Well, that and I was totally won over by the fanart of Hiyoshi that looked like it was done with CG and is just... well, incredible, really. From the fantastic detail on his hair to the perfect lines of his body to the gorgeous way he was super-bishounen-ified, that image made me a fan of the site. Of course, that the artist does the occasional gorgeous Shishido or adorable Yuuta or Marui getting bubble-gum ALL OVER HIS FACE HAHAHAHA XD or the most stunning Yukimura that I've seen in a long time (the one where he's one the phone and seems to almost GLOW, just... *SWOON*) or the most adorable Kirihara ever or fantastic SanaYuki... well, all those things help, too. I really just... GOOD ARTIST HERE YOU GO SEE NOW. (Some shounen ai, no real pairing themes, Hyoutei-friendly, and Rikkai-friendly.)
- Prince of Tennis/Full Metal Alchemist - OVER x REACTION [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I will admit that the art does start out a little simplistic, but I kept clicking because the artist showed potential with her FMA art... and then I got about four or five illustrations in and the artist REALLY tightened up and did what is quite possibly the most beautiful Hawkeye fanart EVER. And then she did a gorgeous RoyEd illustration with these amazing warm colors and a beautiful sense of intimacy without really showing anything... and, yeah, I was pretty much gone by then. Plus, I really like her Prince of Tennis fanart, because she draws Ryoma really cute and rather pretty at the same time and the one TezuRyo illustration on the site is one of the few I like for that pairing. Plus, she did a REALLY NICE FujiRyo illustration and a SUPER ADORABLE Ryoma and Karupin. <3 The whole site wound up being one of those that I just... enjoyed, really. ♥ (Some RoyEd, some RoyAi, some Tenipuri shounen ai without any real themes beyond Ryoma.)
- Prince of Tennis - Phantasms [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I... am not the world's biggest OshiAto fan these days, but, Christ, even I can't resist when the artist does this absolutely incredibly colored art. Just... vivid and bright without being gaudy, you know? It also helped that the artist softed me up with a REALLY PRETTY ToriShishi illustration right off the bat and then a REALLY COOL illustration of Shishido playing pool and doing some FANASTIC (and lovely) group illustrations. And that I genuinely like her Atobe. And that I find the mock-doujinshi game Hyoutei illustrations to be really amusing and pretty. The art is the kind that... you can tell it's fanart, because the lines are a little pointier and the coloring less CG-esque, but it doesn't matter, because it looks PRETTY and it's the artist's distinctive style and then HOLY CRAP SHE DRAWS A GORGEOUS YAGYUU AND NIOU AND MARUI ILLUSTRATION AND I HAVE TO REVEAL WHAT A DIPPY FANGIRL I AM AND DROOL ON MYSELF AT HOW PRETTY IT IS. But her Yagyuu really is hot. *__* (Some Oshitari/Atobe, Hyoutei-friendly, Rikkai-friendly.)
- Prince of Tennis - FTf [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Oh, hell, I can't help it, this site won me over with the absolutely adorable Jiroh/Hiyoshi fanart. I might not have been won over if it had been just Hiyoshi (nothing against the character, but I found the pairing art to be more fun/tighter than the single character art), but then the artist tossed Jiroh in and... I have a soft spot for the little sleepy-head. Plus, she had this one just lovely illustration of Jiroh with marigolds (I think?) that was all sunny and pretty... and then this ADORABLE bouncy Jiroh with ^__^v expression while Hiyoshi huddled in the corner and just... FUN. When the artist is on the ball, she does REALLY good illustrations and I find myself thinking, "....I could be won over by that pairing with a little convincing, yes. >_>" Oh, and the really pretty b&w sketch of Yagyuu and Niou didn't hurt my feelings, either. ♥ (Some Jiroh/Hiyoshi, some other/Hiyoshi.)
- Prince of Tennis - bee*smash [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Okay, so, like, I have this thing for ZukaAto, right? And when I see the characters actually drawn pretty, I get all spazzy-happy and stuff, right? Especially when they can draw Tezuka looking really gorgeous, with that prettypretty hair of his and the stoic expression that's not too bastardy, but not too OMGIAMSOANGSTY, either, 'cause neither are Tezuka-like? And when the artist can make Atobe as gorgeous as he is, with a softer expression than his usual smirk, but not out of character, still ATOBE? When the artist can use really pretty, soft, subtle characters and has these really great basic lines to the illustrations? And when the artist does Tezuka + kitsune!Atobe with a forest background on the oekaki board? Yeah, I like that and go a little nuts over it. *hums happily* (Tezuka/Atobe.)
- Prince of Tennis - dapantyo [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - ....have I never rec'd this site? It seems like I must have... but I can't find it in my links anywhere. It's one of those sites that's just completely all over the map with the characters they draw in the illustrations. One time it'll be a TezuAto illustration, the next it'll be an Eiji illustration, the next it'll be an OshiGaku illustration, the next it'll be Fuji, the next it'll be Ryoma and Karupin, the next it'll be a TezuFuji illustration, then another OshiGaku illustration, and so on. Which I like, because I like a lot of different things (obviously) and because the art is really cute. Her OshiGaku is probably the best, but I find I also like the ZukaAto stuff, because she uses these really pretty colors with brush-like style that works nicely. Just... a NICE site and FUN and one of those that gives me a fix for lots of little things. (Several shounen ai pairings, few themes, but mostly OshiGaku, with Seigaku-friendly, Hyoutei-friendly, TezuAto-friendly, and TezuFuji-friendly elements.)
- Full Metal Alchemist - [ English Fanart Site ] - I was pretty much sold immediately from the moment I saw one of the artist's most recent illustrations of a lovely Ed holding a chibi-Mustang-doll that just... it was both pretty and AHAHAHAHAHA SO CUTE. XD Plus, she has a doujinshi page sample that I REALLY liked a lot, because it was layed out really well and because the darkened panel of Roy putting his arm around Ed's shoulders was just... BEAUTIFUL and gorgeous for all that you didn't really see much of it. She also has a really fanastic mock-bookmark with an Ed illustration that I just fell in love with, because I really, really like her use of colors, the warm golden-peach-orange-ish tones that work really well with her style. Just... I LIKE this artist, I guess? (A little Roy/Ed, but a lot of gen, too.)
- Full Metal Alchemist - K E100S [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I'm not sure how to explain why I liked this site. Maybe it was just because it was in my pairing wheelhouse. Maybe it was because the artist had some sort of spark to her drawings. (Because, despite the seeming simplicity, the art REALLY has a lot of detail to it, especially in the uniforms or the backgrounds with books and such.) Maybe it was the gorgeous Hughes family portrait that had me a puddle of goo on the floor. Maybe it was the lovely golden colors to her shading that I liked so much. Maybe it was the ton of fabulous oekaki (some of which were just downright GORGEOUS). Whatever the reason, I found myself enjoying the hell out of this site and really fangirling over a lot of the illustrations. The artist's Ed is really, really good and I find that I have a HELL of time just picking one or two illustrations to specifically point out because they've all got that certain SOMETHING that makes me go *__* "That's cool!" (A little Roy/Ed, but a lot of gen, too.)
- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I knew I was liking the illustrations of Ed when I was clicking through this gallery, but... to be honest, it wasn't until I hit the Winry illustrations that I knew I'd have to put the site on my list because they were two of the most gorgeous Winry illustrations I'd ever seen. Beautiful lines and beautiful colors--one light, airy blue and one these gorgeous, warm golden colors that just... *swoon* she's so preeeeeetty~ And theeeeeeeen~ *sparkles* Just lovely Roy/Ed illustrations (one of which in Roy's trying to kiss Ed, who has his arm transmuted into a blade at Roy's throat that just... made me love them all over again XD) and there's this really kickass b&w sketch of Ed and... yeah, all in all, the artist does a really good job of making fun art (OMG THE ICONS ARE SO CUTE SQUEE I LOVE THEM SO ADORABLE WHEEEEE) that I liked a lot. (A little Roy/Ed, but it's mostly gen.)
- Yu-Gi-Oh! - AG [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - The current top illustration on this site isn't my favorite, so don't let it deter you if you're clicking through. Because the rest of her Kaiba/Yuugi? Both OH SO ADORABLE and REALLY PRETTY at the same time. I just... I dunno, I like the way she uses muted colors, the way everything looks like a sketched that was painted in with watercolors, making them feel like paintings rather than simple CG illustrations. Plus, the Matrix!Kaiba/Yuugi? OHMYGODSOCOOL. XD Seriously, it looks fantastic. Add in some really, really good, richly detailed and beautifully colored single-character illustrations and some shounen ai with other characters that I don't yet know the names of >_> and you've got a site that's a lot of fun for me. ^__^v (Some Kaiba/Yuugi, some shounen ai that I don't yet know the characters' names for. >_>)
- Inuyasha - [ English Fanart Site ] - There aren't that many Inuyasha illustrations here, but I wound up being impressed enough by those that were that I had to add it to my list. Some of the earlier work almost borders on cute, but the artist's latest one is just flat-out awesome in that way that it could probably pass for official art, because the lines and coloring and inking are all just SO PERFECT. Inuyasha looks great, I get wibbly at the Inuyasha/Kagome snuggly one under the three, and there's an incredible Yuu Yuu Hakusho group illustration further back in the gallery that I am tempted to shove this rec into the YYH section just for that one alone. The earlier pages are also very much worth going through because the artist does great Inuyasha close-ups, just enough details without going overboard that I really like the art. (Maybe a little Inuyasha/Kagome, but a lot of gen, too.)
- Inuyasha - [ Brazillian Fanart Site ] - You know, it took me a minute or two to figure out where the fanart was tucked away (since I came from the artist's DeviantArt page), but I TOTALLY DID NOT MIND because the artist's site has the CUTEST FLASH ANIMATION EVER. Seriously, I would have totally gone to the site just for the Flash stuff alone because OMG SO CUTE AND I LOVE THOSE LITTLE FOXES AND PLAYING WITH THE ART SUPPLIES IS SO MUCH FUN. *coughs* That said, holy shit, this artist is FANTASTIC. Her coloring is just... she nails the coloring right out of the gate, completely professional looking CG-style that I'm just amazed by. Her proportions are a little off early on (but this is pretty much only in comparison to her newest stuff, mind--I am being extremely nitpicky here), but her current stuff? Just... damn, this artist could really pass for professional/official art with some of the illustrations, that's how gorgeously colored and richly detailed and perfectly CG'd they are. Plus? She plays into the things I like with Inuyasha fanart--those looking-out-over-the-mountains poses that I love so much or the mid-transformation with Inuyasha's human and demon forms or adorable chibis that make me squee from the cute or an incredible to look at Sesshoumaru (who is stunningly beautiful in her hands) or chibi brothers fanging at each other or what are possibly my two favorite Inuyasha fanart illustrations ever--one of Inu-taishou with Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru seated on either side of him (OMG SO PRETTY I LOVE AND I TOTALLY SPAZ OVER IT WHEEEEEE) and Inu-taishou holding baby!Inuyasha that just... is FANTASTIC. Oh! Oh! And chibi!Inuyasha chewing on chibi!Sesshoumaru's tail who has the BEST pissed off expression EVER. I laugh every time I see it. XD XD XD I mean, this artist is one of those I'm spazzing incoherently over, but is really, really worth the time to check out her site because she's one of the best out there, I think. Plus, she's got this one totally heart-melting Inuyasha/Kagome kiss that I loved.) (A little Inuyasha/Kagome, but mostly gen, really.)
- Prince of Tennis - Years by Jennifier D. - When I look back on this fic, having read it a few days ago... one of the things that sticks out most in my mind is that I liked what Jenn-san did with the story and the characters, in that I could buy that Tezuka and Atobe didn't pick up on their feelings for each other. So often, an author's characterizations are watered down or dumbed down so that they'll pine until the author has wrung the appropriate amount of angst out of them before they can get together and it feels... well, forced and doesn't ring true. But I liked the way Jenn-san characterized them here and I like all the little details she puts into a story so that you can just... get a genuine sense of where the characters' lives have gone in the future. She doesn't spend a ton of time detailing them out, but you still can feel where they are in their lives, I thought. Plus, as we all know, I'm a sucker for her TezuAto interaction, the way they sort of spark off each other, yet never losing the sense of intelligence and that vague sort of elegance I associate with them. ....yeah, okay, the rec sucks, but it's a good fic. So there. >:D (TezukaAtobe, some references to FujiRyo and TezuRyo.)
