- Prince of Tennis - 2x8 flower [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Hana originally pointed me to some of the art on this site, then Yin showed me where the top page was so I could properly explore the site, so I'm blaming this one on those two. ^_~ This is one of those sites that doesn't really have any single theme to it, so it's hard for me to catagorize it, but it's got something for just about everyone. The first illustrations to hit me were the adorable TezukaFuji ones, but there are also some beautiful YagyuuNiou ones, and even some absolutely wonderful Inui/Yanagi ones, too. And then there's some cute FujiRyo, some cute TezukaRyoma, some cute Rokkaku illustrations, some beautiful Rikkai ones, and just on and on and on. Sanu's Gallery is nice for her pretty lineart--she did these fantastic Christmas illsutrations that were both just SO CUTE and had such prettypretty colors and I totally fangirled over them. Then Miko's Gallery was just... her art is nearly like this painting style that's just incredibly cool to see. There's too much art here for me to properly describe, but, ahahahaha, yes, of course I loved the ones of Yagyuu and Niou kissing especially. Ooh, ooh, and the softly beautiful one of Tezuka taking a picture of himself and Fuji leaning into him while they're in traditional clothing. LUFF. (Too many pairings to name, no single theme, but lots of Seigaku and Rikkai art.)
- Full Metal Alchemist/Spiral/Gundam SEED - Omega+Gimmick [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I admit, I was hesitant to rec this site at first, because I have a lot of negative associations with the pairing after the atrocious behavior of (several of--not all, mind) the fans on the English-speaking side of the ocean, but... well, to be honest, I was won over by the Roy/Ed art on the site, which was lovely. There was this one that just took my breath away because of the lines and the colors, not necessarily traditionally pretty, but if you're an art junkie like me, the feeling of it was grand. There were also some gorgeous Roy illustrations, some adorable Winry illustrations, some pretty Hawkeye illustrations, and a squee-worthy Winry/Al illustration that had me dancing a little jig. I like the watercolor-type style and, hell, I figured if the Japanese fen can be tolerant and like all things, I can, too. The Spiral art is just... cute, even if the pairing isn't my favorite. Ayu/Hiyono doesn't hit me quite the right way, but I HAD to rec this site because the art is just so PRETTY; it's more of the same watercolor-like style that give the illustrations these soft, gentle feel to them without being all sacchirine or shoujo-y. As for the Gundam SEED art, it continues in the same vein--very soft, pretty colors, watercolors-type style, a good selection of just about all the characters. I have a real fondness for sites that cover a wide range of stuff. ^_^ Plus, even more than her other art, the artist's lines look fine and detailed here, making it all just really PRETTY. Or, you know, I could just be squee'ing because the artist drew a Kira/Frey illustration and I still have massive Frey love. It was just the one, I think, but that was still enough to win me over. ♥ However, the Kagari 22 section is chock-full of BEAUTIFUL illustrations. *__* (Roy/Ed, Roy/Hawkeye, a little Ed/Winry, Ayu/Hiyono, all over the place with G-SEED, a slight nudity warning.)
- Gundam SEED - MUCHCHOP [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - After finding the last G-SEED fanart site, I was just... in the mood to go through a few links, especially to see if I could find some Ashuran/Kagari illustrations, which is one of the pairings in the series that actually intrigues me. And this site has some fantastic art--the details and backgrounds and colors are just really amazing in some of them and I love the artist for putting Kagari in that pretty dress of hers so often. The art in the banner for this site is one that I especially have in mind when I say this, because it just... embodies that sense of connection/attraction between the characters that makes me fangirl so hard. This rec is kind of sucking, so just go see the pretty Ashuran/Kagari fanart, y0. ^_~ (Ashuran/Kagari.)
- Gundam SEED - ACT [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is yet another site where I sort of waffled on whether or not to rec it at first, since it wasn't blowing me away at first, but the further I got into the gallery, the more I found myself won over by the art. The artist has a sense for good colors and smooth lines, even if I'm not 100% wild about her proportions, but it was really the comics that won me over with this site. She's got quite a few of them and they're just... nice! Her lines tighten up a lot and she's got terrific shading on them and they especially look terrific when she's colored them. Plus, there's this one illustration of chibi-esque Kagari spazzing on Ashuran that just makes me go XDXDXD so I had to rec the site. ^_^v (Ashuran/Kagari.)
