Notes/Babbling: I need to stay away from yaoi_rants. I just want to spork the majority of the people who post there. Also, I give myself a big, "WTF!" to the YGO art. I mean... WTF! ^_~
Series:
Prince of Tennis - 3 Fanart
    Yu-Gi-Oh - 3 Fanart
    One Piece - 1 Fanart
    One Piece - 1 Fanfic

- Prince of Tennis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Inui and Kaidoh aren't exactly my passion, so I don't seek them out as much as I'd like, but once in awhile I happen to stumble across a site that has some art that just... nails what I like about the characters. There are a couple of Kaidoh illustrations on this site that are just beautiful, really, really beautiful (the artist's Kaidoh is far and away the highlight of this site), what with the perfect way she draws his eyes and his face and his expressions and all that. Add in a couple of really NICE InuKai illustrations and you've got a site that I kinda just liked. ^_^v (Some InuiKaidoh, some gen.)

- Prince of Tennis - ESCAPE [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Not every last illustration this artist did knocked me over the moon, but I was wild enough about her Sanada/Yanagi illustrations and the random single-character illustration that I had to put this site on my list. The nice thing about this artist is that she has really good lines to her art and even when she colors the pictures, the lines still stand out as being really just well-done. She's got this one of Niou in traditional clothing that's just lovely and this one of Yagyuu in a sort of almost gothic-esque suit that is gorgeous and her Sanada/Yanagi illustrations are just beautiful, pretty and fine without being delicate, lovely without being all shoujo-y. She also does great non-modern clothes and the more and more you go into the gallery, the stroner her art gets. Some of the later ones have these amazing details around the mouth and eyes, but without overshadowing the entire effect of the image. ....ehhh, what I'm really just trying to get across is, "PRETTY!" XD;; (Rikkai-centric, some Sanada/Yanagi.)

- Prince of Tennis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Okay, I've rec'd this site before, but I think I only put it in the FujiRyo section before, so I wanted to re-rec it now that the artist is moving into Rikkai illustrations territory. The thing I like about this artist is that she does an absolutely fantastic job of capturing Konomi-sensei's style to her art, to the point that with her more recent illustrations, I could have believed that they'd come straight from the manga, that's how talented this fanartist is. Her Niou is perfect and she also does an absolutely amazing Kirihara. Her FujiRyo illustrations are gorgeous and practically perfect, her group illustrations are WONDERFUL. There's one of Oishi, Fuji, Ryoma, and Eiji that I'm just massively in love with and I adore the one she did of Yagyuu and Niou with Kirihara and Marui in the background. Just... wow, to this artist, who nails the Tenipuri style. *__* (Some FujiRyo, some Rikkai, some gen.)

- Yu-Gi-Oh - 7-TH FALL [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - As I always mention, I rarely go looking for YGO sites, just because I've never seen the series and don't really know the characters and the art is fairly typical shounen fare, there's not a whole lot to attract me... except that sometimes I see a really stunningly beautiful site that just does a phenominal job with the illustrations and I can't help going through the site. Despite not really knowing much at ALL about the series. But that hardly mattered here, because the artist is so good with her colors and lines and overall style that just nails the YGO style/feel AND looks genuinely cool/neat. ....honestly, despite having little impulse to get into the series previously, I kind of want to now, after seeing this site. >_>;;; (No warnings/pairings.)

- Yu-Gi-Oh - Trick King [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - And speaking of gorgeous, amazingly pretty YGO sites.... I was just impressed as hell at the colors on this site, the soft, light, airy feel to the illustrations without going the shoujo route. I mean, the artist makes the Yu-Gi-Oh characters look pretty, yet still recognizable... and, dammit, that's the kind of thing that sucks me in, despite not really knowing the series. The artist really does an amazing job with each and every image, the poses, the concepts/feel of the illustration, the designs, the soft colors that aren't quite girly, but that are softer than one might think YGO calls for. Plus, holy crap, there's a LOT of art here, enough to actually make me feel rather sated by the art. *happy sigh* (....um, no idea?)

- Yu-Gi-Oh - REM REAL - Single Twin [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - ....why is Yu-Gi-Oh fanart so pretty? Is it doing it on purpose? Just to taunt me? Just to attempt to drag me into yet another fandom because it knows I don't have the time for it? Just to make my brain explode? Whatever the reason, the art here is just beautiful, more of that soft, airy sort of feel to the characters that just makes me fall in love as a fangirl. The characters' hair and eyes all look amazing, very much in the distinctive YGO style, but somehow softened so that the characters actually look pretty. Well, sometimes, anyway. Other times, the artist has just completely captured the CG style (though, her colors tend to be softened so they're less harsh and a lot more lovely to look at, not quite pastels, but warmer colors, certainly) that they, too, look absolutely amazing. I don't really know the characters well enough to know whether or not I like the pairings (or even to NOTE them, which I feel vaguely badly about, but... >_>), all I know is that the images are sometimes sweet, sometimes amusing, sometimes effing COOL, and sometimes a little sad, but they're always just beautiful. Professional-level art skill here, I think. Some of them are good enough that, if I were a fan, I'd be having spasms of fan-joy. (....um, no idea?)

- One Piece - Cartoon Heroes [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - The art on this site took me a little while to get used to, it's very CG-ish in the sort of way... mm, it's hard to describe but I know what I mean. XD;; Anyway, the coloring is a little odd sometimes, but I really warmed up to it because, the further you get into the gallery, the more it starts to really WORK for the artist and she has some KICK ASS poses/concepts for her art. There's this one of Shanks and Luffy after Shanks has just gotten his arm bitten off that's just... you can FEEL the emotion from it, but it's also beautifully drawn, the colors lovely and the effects of the waves adding to it. Ahm, I'm doing a bad job of describing why I liked this site so much--it's not exactly the same as the typical sort of OP art, but it works for this artist--she does a fantastic Shanks, but she also does a fantastic everyone. What I really like, though, is she somehow captures the sense of... pirate to Shanks (and Luffy), the very cool, dangerous, deadly, but FUN still. Oh, and the Vivi/Kohza illustrations? OMG HOLY CRAP SO PRETTY. *___* Totally worth going to the site for all on their own. (Not really any pairings/warnings.)

- One Piece - Sitting on the Waves by Sgamer82 - I'd never read this author before (seeing as going through the One Piece archives on FFNET would probably make me CRY or swear off the series forever), but when she updated her story recently, I decided to give her other (complete) one a shot and... well, the first time I tried to write this rec, I wound up just squee'ing my head off because the story has everything I want in OP fic! *twirls* There was rock solid characterization (the author just NAILED what makes the characters so much fun to see interacting with each other), there were ACTION SCENES that totally captured the feel of the original series (when Robin was fighting against her villain, I could just SEE the whole thing because the author really 1) wrote action very well with all the right descriptions, 2) knew Robin's powers and HOW to use them, 3) did it in such a way that I BELIEVED this is how a fight in One Piece would go down, and 3) made it INTERESTING--it wasn't an easy fight and she didn't do it on her own... the exact same thing applied to Zoro and Sanji and Luffy's fights, too), there were moments of humor (Sanji and Chopper's bickering right after Sanji's fights completely cracked me up XD), and there were also moments of HEART. The main theme of the story was friendship (along with a side-dish of second chances) and there was no obvious favoritism played between the characters and it just... so beautifully captured the FEEL of the OP series (along with some gorgeous Luffy - Nami interaction that made me really happy to see--even if it was completely on a friendhip level *twirls*) that I'm pretty much reduced to gibberish in my attempt to describe why I liked it. Really, a must-read if you like the OP series. (No warnings/pairings.)

In which Subaru gets summoned to a house on the beach to perform an exorcism, and that house turns out to belong to a certain onmyouji. Then Subaru gets called back the next day. And the next day. And the next day... XD

*runs away from the newspaper!!*

....crap. Well, now you have my interest piqued. *fangs* Does he know who the house belongs to? Is said certain onmyouji there? Or is Subaru just being called out to a job that never has a spirit show and it's getting to be highly irritating?

*chases, still brandishing the newspaper!!*

*running, calls over shoulder* Said onmyouji shows up after the first exorcism is finished! XD And all the exorcisms are of things Seishirou probably summoned himself. One of which was a spirit trapped in a teakettle. After the exorcism, Seishirou insisted on treating Subaru to tea as his "just desserts". XDXD

*having too much fun with this idea, really*

*laughs* Hee! I ♥ the idea that there actually ARE things he has to banish, lest they run around free, so he HAS to show up, even knowing who's there. (Which I assume is how it goes?) And I ♥ your Seishirou, too.

And you were saying you were feeling evil today? >__> *coughs*

Yeah, that's how it goes. Until Subaru gets used to seeing Seishirou every day, and starts anticipating the calls. ^_~ I need some cute to cleanse my soul of all the angst I've been feeding it.
