Series:
Yami no Matsuei - 1 Fanfic
Dragonball Z - 2 Fanfic
Ranma 1/2 - 1 Fanfic
- Yami no Matsuei - Worth by Loki's Rose - I remember seeing this mentioned recently, so I saved it to read later and randomly clicked on it again this morning and... just... *melts with a fangirlish squeak* Ohhh, this was perfect for this morning, gently shounen ai, but enough to actually scratch my itch for TatsumixWatari. What I adored about this story was that it was just the right everything--just the right length, just the right tone, just the right amount of details, just the right, gorgeous characterizations. It was a wonderful fic and I absolutely adored the way it played out. *happy, happy sigh* (TatsumixWatari.)
- Dragonball Z - My Best Friend's Rival by Sholio - It's interesting. I get a certain thrill from a well-written DBZ fic that is somehow different from just about any other series, and I'm not entirely sure why. I just know that when I read a fic like this, one of those fics that captures how wonderful, intelligent, and sparkling Bulma (and the others) is... it just puts me in that post-fic bliss that I love so much. Possibly because there's a lot of brain-bleedingly mediocre DBZ fic out there, so when the real gems come along, it makes it even better. Whatever it is... this is what keeps me going back to DBZ fic again and again. (Canon pairings.)
- Ranma 1/2 - Rainy Afternoon by Sholio - Ranma 1/2 is a series where there is a lot of really good fic, but I never seem to have the time to settle into it or find the right fic to really catch my attention, so color me surprised when I read this fic on a whim and didn't get distracted once. Of course, it helps that I just adore Sholio's writing and have been reading her fics all day, but she also does some of the best sparkling characterization that I've seen. And what I mean by that is that not only do the characterizations resonate with me, not only are they right, but that they make me laugh or smile or touch my heart in the way they're supposed to. The writing is... clever. That's the best way to put it, I think. And excuse me while I fawn, 'cause it's been awhile since I read a good Ranma-fic that I liked. I do so adore the fic for that series. =^_^= (No real warnings.)
- Dragonball Z - No Need to Say Goodbye by Sholio - GT's ending... stung very much. *sniffles* As she says in the author's notes, she wanted to write this fic to make the ending sting a little bit less and I'm glad for this story, because it does help. It's wonderfully written, the characters so wonderfully themselves, but I liked it for taking some of that sting away, for making it a little bit less ouchy. ;_; (Mentions of canon pairings.)
