- Hunter x Hunter - mint by rondaview - *sparkle*sparkle* Good HxH fanfic does not come along often enough, especially not authors who can write Leorio as being the... dumb, obnoxious jerk he kind of is, but without making him an actual dumb, obnoxious jerk, y'know? Plus, this was just... light and fun! I adore the LeoPika relationship so much and stories like this are why because they're just... I suppose I don't have the words for them, but they're here and this story just made me smile to read about them. Plus, poor, poor Kurapika. XD (Leorio/Kurapika.)
- X-Men/Northstar - Shedding Irony (chapter 02) by Soyo - Oh, how do I love X-Men when written well? So very, very much. Especially when the writing is lovely, just utterly fabulous and sparkling, when it's CLEVER and FUNNY and yet it's not parody, it's just... you know the X-Men when they're really, really on? ....okay, yeah, me neither, but this is what I imagine they'd be like if that ever happened. So far, there's not really even any romance, just an actual plot happening, just actual fabulous interaction between the characters and, holy fuck, I want to, like, marry Soyo's Jean-Paul. He can cheat on me with Bobby all he likes, I don't mind, I just want to marry him, that's how arrogantly perfect he is. This is why I fell for the character. Also? Bobby? So much love for him. And YAY for the other characters not being forgotten! The opening scene with Shan were just utterly fabulous. (Eventual Jean-Paul/Bobby, I assume.)
- Prince of Tennis/Koko wa Greenwood - A Tale of Two Tezukas by Aishuu - Tezuka Kunimitsu rarely got "the feeling" that something was going to go wrong, but that day as he talked to Ryuuzaki Sumire about plans for the upcoming game with Hyotei, it struck him with a vengeance. Ahahahahaha, how much is my love for Aishuu right now? IMMENSE. Because, damn, I jokingly went on about a Tenipuri/Greenwood crossover (Tezuka Shinobu and Tezuka Kunimitsu, both so smart and competent and fiercely intense and, hell, they're both student president ♥), I didn't think anyone could actually write it so WELL. There are a million little things in here that just make me bounce with GLEE. Every time Oishi tried to figure out what was going on, every time Tezuka had to repress a twitch at his "beloved" cousin, every time Fuji smothered a laugh behind his hand and his eyes lit up at what was afoot... all of it blended into this story that MADE SENSE, but it also captured the whole... off-the-wall feel both Tenipuri and Greenwood have. I cannot WAIT for more. ♥ (No warnings/pairings.)
- Cardcaptor Sakura/Wish - How To Destroy Angels by Sunfreak - You know, normally crossovers aren't my thing, but today seems to be the day for them. (Perhaps I ought to read the Furuba/Petshop of Horrors crossover I keep thinking is one of the bestest ideas ever....) But I was lured in by the promise of an intra-CLAMP crossover with Touya in a main role. And, oh, this is just charming and sparkling and silly and just has that CLAMP feel to it. It's a gorgeous blend of both series, it makes sense, and is just very cleverly written. I love the way pretty much EVERYONE gets a scene here--even Fujitaka and Nadeshiko! *loves*--I love the fabulous writing, I love the idea, I love the sort of madcap lighter CLAMP feel the story has, and most of all... it's just... it feels like a little slice of both series. How can I not love that? Plus, eeeeeeeee! TOUYA AND KOHAKU AND OMG SO MUCH CUTENESS ALL AROUND! *spazzes happily* XD (Canon pairings, but nothing that's taken center stage, really.)
