[ Naruto, Weiss Kreuz, and Get Backers ]

tomomichiNotes/Babbling: Still catching up on fic a bit.... Am trying to get back into the habit of doing this more regularily. Also fiddling with my template a teeny bit. Shockingly no Tennis no Ohjisama. Will stop talking in fragmented sentences. Soon. ^_~

- Naruto - Empty House by Victoria - This is a short little fic that accomplishes exactly what the author sets out to do--tug at the heartstrings and also make you a little happier for Naruto now that he and his life are changing. Set from Iruka-sensei's POV, this story was just... the tone it set was absolutely wonderful, you could feel everything he felt, and it was gorgeously in character. And then the little snippets of Naruto... ow. My heart hurt for him in all the ways the fic wanted me to. ;__; (No warnings/pairings.)
- Weiss Kreuz - His Art is Eccentricity by Lady Jaida - There are certain fandoms that I will always come running back to when one of my favorite authors posts something new, and Weiss Kreuz is probably the ultimate of that. Because I am weak in the face of good Schwarz/CrawfordxSchuldich fic (and so often RanKen, too >_>), because I really do love these characters so much. And Lady Jaida knows how to write a fic that leaves me purring in content, especially when she starts working a plot into the story--while it's all filtered through Schuldich's POV (which means he only pays attention to what he wants to XD), there's an actual story going on here along with the gorgeous characterizations. And, dear god do I love her Crawford with the way he doesn't take shit from Schuldich ever, the way he dishes it out so easily, and yet... there's something there, even if it isn't very nice. This is my absolute perfect CrawfordxSchuldich with the way they snipe at each other one minute and can be in the bathtub having sex the next and Crawford threatening to shoot Schuldich's knees off the one after that. XD *WANTS MORE* (Some CrawfordxSchuldich, some hints of SchuldichxNagi, and some het.)
- Get Backers - Relief by Gnine - Awww, Ban-chan x Ginji fluff is always a nice treat, especially when it involves good writing and Ginji being his adorable self. I also liked the way the case they'd just gotten off of was worked into the background of the fic, not taking up too much time or attention when the story wasn't really about it, but at the same time you got enough info to understand why Ban was feeling all ouchy. And the little details from the aprons to Ginji cooking to the way he used his electricity in the massage (even before I read it, I was thinking that might be a good idea XD) were also wonderful in this fluffy story~. ^___^ (Some slight Ban-chan x Ginji if you want to see it that way.)
- Weiss Kreuz - Monochromatic Whispers by Avium - I admit, I probably wouldn't have read this story if Ken and Crawford weren't my two favorite WK characters and if I didn't like so much of Avium's other writing. The way she writes these characters is the way they have to be written, because Crawford and Ken cannot have feelings for each other, it has to be about the harsh sex--and that's what it is about here. I adore Crawford like this--gorgeous, in control, unafraid to be a bastard, enjoys being a bastard sometimes, even, and dominating. And I adore a Ken like this--still a guy, still strong in his own way, weak in others, not really knowing what he wants, unable to help himself with certain things, yet still being angry and fighting sometimes. What I really love is the way that both of their lives and personalities are slowly being... put off-balance by this, slowly... almost working around each other, tangling with each other... it's difficult to describe. I wouldn't call it falling in "love", but it's more than just becoming used to the other. Either way... believable Crawford x Ken. It's still such a boggling concept to me. XD (Crawford x Ken.)
