Notes/Babbling: I am filled with both an intense rage and an intense sense of gloating when it comes to Amanda because, oh, sure, she got me to read the first HP fic, but, ohohohoho, I will take her down with me. Yes. Also, I have a bottle of pop that I've stuck in the freezer just long enough for it to start icing over, so it has little chunks of frozen ice in it. This is the greatest thing in the world. I'll go pass out now, kthx.

- Naruto - OGIWORKS [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - The art on this site might be a little bit difficult to find (click on the little Iruka head towards the bottom of the left-hand menu), but it's so very worth it, because... well, I was going through the site while talking with gaki and I could not stop squee'ing over Iruka here, to the point I'm sure she must have been giving me strange looks. I must have shoved thirty seperate illustrations at her because they were all just amazing. This is one of those sites that reconfirms my love for the characters and for J-fanart in general because the overall quality of the work here is just so fantastic--it's not one or two illustrations, it's damn near all of them. Iruka looking gorgeous or adorable or incredibly kick-ass or the hysterically cute illustrations or a beautiful KakaIru of them both kicking ass or being cutely intimate in one of those gorgeous fanarts, etc. I'm not describing the site very well, it's just... if you're an Iruka fan, I think this is a must-see site and highly recommended for any KakaIru fans, because she just nails the classic Naruto fanart that I so desperately crave. (Some KakaIru, but a lot of gen, too.)
- Naruto - Kakure Wild [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - So you know how I'm in love with Naruto fanart, especially if it's of my three favorite characters? Well, this site just feeds even more into that, because the art is like the 'classic' sites that caused me to fall in love in the first place--an incredibly solid and pretty style overall, with so many individual illustrations that I would want to shove at friends that it's honestly easier just to shove the entire site at them. I just... I kinda like the smooth feeling to the images, something almost like an oil painting (and the Matrix!Iruka one is brilliant, I swear XD) and the KakaIru gropey ones make me a happy, happy fangirl. Plus, hey, that one of Kakashi and Iruka standing on a Konoha rooftop and watching the sun or of them in the snow holding hands are worth the price of admission alone. <3 (KakaIru.)
- Yu-Gi-Oh! - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - (Thanks to SILvErRbLooD for pointing this one out! ♥) This is one of those sites that really makes me stop and stare at the art because it really deserves the word phenominal for several of the illustrations here. There are a couple of Yuugi or Yami with a dragon that are just... flat-out stunning, from the amazingly rich colors (I stare in awe at the colors) to the incredibly detailed and gorgeous lines to the absolutely fantastic proportions. Or there are some absolutely amazing ones of Kaiba that I find myself drooling over and sort of pining that I can't see the show (aside from the butchered version on TV, which I have tried to watch), because if it can inspire art like this... there's got to be something to it. (No real warnings, I don't think.)
- Death Note - BIRD SHEEP [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - EEEEEEEE! I've rec'd Bird Sheep previously, both for her Hikaru no Go and Naruto fanart (her Hikago fanart is probably the BEST I've ever seen, for my personal tastes), which are gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous and her Death Note fanart is no exception. The colors are beautiful, the details amazing, and she just has this... glow to her art that I fall in love with every time I see it. Her current top illustration of L is just... GORGEOUS, quite possibly one of the best I've seen so far. Plus, I also highly recommend her Hikago and Naruto fanart. *swoons* (Maybe a little Raito/L.)
- Kenran Butoh Sai - Cerulea [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - You know, I didn't actually expect to find any Kenran Butoh Sai fanart, much less of the Yagami/Grahm variety, much less pretty fanart for the pairing. But what I really love about this site is that it captures the style of the anime, the art looks like the anime, only softer. But the characters look fantastic--there's one of Yagami in priests clothes that looks terrific or the one of Grahm looking freaked out that's got lovely colors or the wonderful b&w sketches that look so soft and pretty or the absolutely adorable chibi illustrations. All in all, this is one of those sites that makes me sparkle that it exists because... WHEE! Kenran Butoh Sai fanart that's just about all I could ask for and when I was done going through the site, I found myself actually wishing there were a fandom for the series, because this site made it FUN to like the show again. (Some Yagami/Grahm, a lot of gen.)
- Harry Potter - Memoria Incarnatum by Julie Fortune - Amanda pointed this fic out to me this morning and while I generally don't read too much HP, the prospect of Julie Fortune writing Remus/Sirius fic intrigued me. Because her writing is professional-level quality and I can just sink into a story like this and not come back out until I was done... the story is full of this gorgeous writing that is beautifully detailed and bringing to mind perfect imageries (the amount of detail the author knows about the background world that she simply weaves into the writing, rather than randomly plunking it down here and there, like little tack-on notes was fabulous), but it was the sheer amount of heart in this story that quite literally nearly made me cry. What you see Sirius going through, the heartbreak Remus goes through, and that second-to-last scene in the fic... all of it was like a hammer right to my solar plexus, a dull sort of ache that wouldn't let up the entire time. This is heart-breaking writing without being manipulative, this is gorgeous writing that loves the world and characters, that manages to make things a little better, but doesn't shy away from the sheer amount of hurt to it. God, I was just horrified by some of the things that had happened. And I mentioned the whole 'almost crying' thing, right? Jesus. *needs fluffy-fluffy fic now* (Remus/Sirius, some graphic content.)
