SHARING TIME:
You know, I was browsing delicious accounts earlier (because god forbid I do anything productive) and came across someone who had 150+ fandoms listed and had the thought, "Shit, that's a lot. I wonder how many I have...." and decided to do a rough count. I came up with approximately 225 fandoms, but that doesn't really include the one-offs or fandoms I don't have enough stuff to justify giving them their own section. What's even worse is that's just my fandoms, not everything I watch or read. (Seriously, I just inhale stuff, apparently. orz)
AND ONTO THE RECS:
    30 Rock - 2 Fanfics
    Chuck - 2 Fanfics
Final Fantasy VII - 1 Fanfic
    Firefly - 1 Fanfic
    Fringe - 1 Fanfic
    Nodame Cantabile - 1 Fanfic
    Psych - 1 Fanfic
    Skip Beat! - 1 Fanfic
    Suikoden Tierkreis - 2 Fanfics
    Code Geass - 1 Fanart
    Gundam 00 - 4 Fanart
    Suikoden Tierkreis - 10 Fanart
Tales of Vesperia - 1 Fanart
2009 GOAL: 511/1700

30 Rock: We Have to Be Very, Very Quiet by michellek - Man, I love the porn battle, going through the links for fics like this is really great when I get something good to read. And it's porn. This is a really great Liz voice, it's so easy to see and hear her, and it fits right in with both the Jack/Liz dynamic and the craziness of the show. It's also hot porn and I love that Liz keeps telling Jack to be quiet and then she's the one who keeps making noise, that's really perfect for these two. I really loved this one a lot. (Jack/Liz, NC-17.)

30 Rock: Rubber Duckie by grenyarnia - What made this fic work for me, aside from that it was very nice porn, was that it had a bit of a sense of humor (somehow the ducks were just too easy to picture XD) and I could hear Liz and Jack's narration of the scenes. The author captured their voices even during sex really well and that made it a fun read. Plus, it's always nice to find more Jack/Liz porn to read. :D :D :D (Jack/Liz, NC-17.)

Chuck: the secret you don't know how to tell by ndnickerson - [Note: There are spoilers for the season two finale in this fic and this rec.] Oh, man, this was a fantastic fic to read, not just for the porn (though, that was really nice), but for the way it picked up where the second season left off, all the changes that were put in motion, but they're still Chuck and Sarah. The use of the spy cover and the tension between them, the use of Chuck's memories of Bryce, the use of all these little details was fantastic, it was the Chuck/Sarah dynamic brought to text. All of this on top of really, really hot porn, wow. It was seriously one of the best fics for that just about ever, never mind in the Chuck fandom. (Chuck/Sarah, NC-17.)

Chuck: revisionist history by ndnickerson - [Note: There are spoilers for the season two finale in this fic and this rec.] You know, I started reading this fic (well, this whole fic series, but each of these should stand pretty well on their own) for the porn, because I really needed Chuck/Sarah porn after all the UST in the last few episodes of the second season. And it's delicious porn indeed. But what I keep sticking around with this author for actually isn't that part of her writing, it's her amazing Sarah voice and the spot-on characterization. I love how brilliantly well she captures Sarah's professionalism mixed with her humanity, how she wants this life that her cover is with Chuck, how she's strong enough to leave it as cover and yet she's worn away a little bit at a time because she wants it. You can really feel what Sarah's going through without the author having to state it and it's gorgeous to watch. (Chuck/Sarah, NC-17.)

Final Fantasy VII: Battle Cries and Lessons Learned by windrider1 - Every so often I stop to read Cloud/Tifa fic and, well. I admit that I picked this one up because it's on springkink and I'm always curious to see if there's more well-written het porn out there, especially with a pairing like this one, and I'm glad that I still give things a chance sometimes, because this was really fantastic. It starts off harsh and painful, it's a fight and I loved the feel of tension and action here, but then it segues really well into sex and it works for these characters. Often times this is a sweet pairing, but there's a lot of painful things here, too, and this fic does a fantastic job at bringing them out for both of them. (Cloud/Tifa, NC-17.)

Firefly: Femerall by recrudescence - I don't even know why I clicked onto a Firefly fic link, except that I've always had that soft spot for certain Jayne pairings and Jayne/River was one of them. It was also that this fic sucked me in right from the beginning, the way it captures River's odd quality and yet doesn't feel like it's trying too hard, the way it uses details and focuses in on them without losing the rest of the fic, the way there's this edge of danger underneath, that all really works. But I also really loved the Jayne characterization and the way he treats her, somehow that felt spot on. (Jayne/River, NSFW.)

Fringe: The Ultimate Fate of those Gerbils by Franzi - You know, I was sort of wary of venturing out into the Fringe fandom because it's this show that really shouldn't work as well as it does and I didn't think fandom could really match up to that. And yet I've found a couple of good fics and, hell, Yuletide is often good for finding smaller fandoms. And this was a delightful little piece, it has a really good Olivia voice especially, after Peter dies on a routine day (for them) and all the craziness that goes through the Fringe world. It captured the spirit of the show nicely and I love the use of the gerbils. (No warnings/pairings.)

Nodame Cantabile: Amoroso by Lys ap Adin - There was something really beautiful about the writing of this, something that really fit the series and Chiaki's character especially for me. I love the use of imagery in it, I love the hints of the way they touch each other and the way Chiaki thinks of Nodame, both in and out of bed. I really liked his take on her and how the rest of the world sees him, I really liked the way the two sides (introspective and the porn) blended together beautifully in this fic. (Chiaki/Nodame, barely more than a PG rating.)

Psych: Pretty Much A Humperdinck by shrift - Oh, god, I don't think I stopped grinning like an idiot the entire time I was reading this. I can't even tell you how much I love Shawn and Gus fic like this, where the dialogue is sharp and brilliant without trying too hard, where it's just spot-on and so easy to imagine. I loved the use of flashbacks to 25 years previous and the way they contrasted against the current day. I loved that this fic nailed both their charactersizations, so well that it was easy to see them slide right into the relationship when it could have almost been a page right out of the show. al;skdjfals god I love this fandom when it's on. (Shawn/Gus.)

Skip Beat!: So Ordinary by anenko - You know, if this had been a different author or if I hadn't just automatically opened the link when I saw she was writing Skip Beat! fic, I don't know if I'd have read this one. I'm not really at the point where I'm ready to forgive Sho yet. But somehow... somehow this fic got me caught up in it and it's a really great piece from Sho's point of view and his obvious attraction to Kyouko and the way his thoughts turn dirty as he sees a picture of her on a billboard and blends together with the porn aspect, all while keeping the characterization. I love the way this was done, it's so easy to see it fitting together with the characters. (Sho/Kyouko--sort of/in a sense--NC-17 or so.)

Suikoden Tierkreis: Matchmaking Music by Kitchuu - Oh, I have such a fondness for Ramin because he's such an annoying little psychotic fucker and this fic uses him kind of beautifully. I love the concept of it, Ramin creates a new song, that kind of song, and plays it around the castle and the fic writes it wonderfully, it's all short bursts of chaos that you can just see and the writing style reminded me of the game and I don't think I stopped grinning the whole way through this fic. Very cute and funny! (Far too many pairings to list.)

Suikoden Tierkreis: untitled by chibimazoku - [Note: I'm not sure how many spoilers there are in this fic, just pay attention to the warnings, I guess?] This is a post with three short fics, but I'm going to group them together to make it easier on me. I was drawn here for the Tierkreis fic (which is extremely rare to find in English) and was utterly delighted to find three wonderful little scenes that were all perfect the way they were. The Luo-Tao/Liu one was perfect and said so much without having to say it, everything that happens after the events in the Scribe Village. But then it also used the image at the end that's been rolling around my head as well and had been dying to see in fic but didn't think I was ever going to get. ♥ Then ROBERTO. Oh, I love him and his spazzy obvious feelings for the hero and that one nailed both their characters wonderfully. And then Atrie, oh, how I love him, too. Just. Each of these did a fantastic job at the characters they were writing about and were these wonderful little moments that make me feel better about this fandom. Or at least less antsy about needing fic. ♥ (Luo-Tao/Liu, Roberto --> hero, and gen, in that roder.)

- Code Geass - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I originally came here for the Gundam 00 fanart, but saw there was a Geass section as well and just... couldn't quite resist clicking on the link. And the artist has a really clean, anime cel-style look to it that she does amazingly well, but it's also the focus on the female characters of the series (I'd say possibly more than half of the images here, even?) really made me sit up and take notice of the site. The art is very nicely done in the same style as the anime and the colors are really bright and vivid and it's got art of CC and Kallen together by themselves! Not as much as I'd have liked, but there really wasn't a lot of pairing art (there was some, but it's not the focus of the site) and it was more about the gen aspect and I'm all for that. (Nothing frequent enough to warn for.)

- Gundam 00 - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It took me a bit to get into this site properly, but not that long--it's a fun, cute site. It's got a light, easy sort of style, lots of soft lines and light colors, which I'm down for sometimes. But it's actually the Allelujah/Tieria art and the occasional group illustration that the artist really works on that fully won me over with the site, there's a surprising amount of detail to them and they're often cute as all get out or actually really pretty. There's a decent amount here, occasionally there's some really pretty colors (like the one with all these pretty shades of purple with Tieria) and some great stand-alone images about halfway through the site and just... it was an overall solid site that I enjoyed a lot. (Half gen, half Allelujah/Tieria.)

- Gundam 00 - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - There's not a lot of art here and I might have just looked at the art for a few minutes and then kept going, except... I like the style somehow, it's not quite stylized but it's got an interesting look to it. And, what really caught my attention, were the colors, which are vivid and just beautiful looking. Plus, Lockon/Tieria and Allelujah/Tieria? I'm weak, okay. Plus, there's some cute stuff on the log pages and I liked the bright, cg style of those images. It was enough to put the site on my list for me. :D (Some Allelujah/Tiera, some Lockon/Tieria, some gen.)

- Gundam 00 - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I admit, I kind of skipped over the illustrations with Lockon in them and thought about just closing the tab a time or two, but... the artist really loves Feldt as a character and the images really fit her character so well and there was a lot of stand-alone art and I just... couldn't resist clicking all the way through the gallery. It's very brightly colored, very much about the pinks and greens and yellows, but the artist really captures the feel of her character. Plus there's a good amount of art with other characters, there's several illustrations with Chris and it was just... an interesting site. I actually enjoyed myself. (Half gen, half Lockon/Feldt.)

- Gundam 00 - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is another site that took me, like, five clicks into the gallery to fall in love with. Several of the illustrations have a rough style to them, almost sketches more than fully done images, but the artist's style really works for them, it's messy but really detailed. And pretty, of course. It helps that it's another site focused on Tieria and how pretty he can be or how fun it is to have people glomping onto him or beautifully done wedding dresses or genderswap, the usual stuff that makes me :D or lol. And then occasionally there are some gorgeous cg colors and the group images are terrific (especially any time several of the G00 women are in them) and some of the Nena images look downright amazing. It wound up being one of those sites that re-energized me today and made me want to spend forever looking for G00 art. ♥ It might not be for everyone, but I loved this site. (Some Lockon/Tieria, some gen. Probably not quite SFW.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is another site that does a lot with the background characters and I kind of fell in love with it for that. Minen and Buchse and Yula and Tsaubern are especially frequent on this site, which is kind of good timing since I had just recruited Tsaubern into my party a few hours before stumbling onto this site and I was totally kind of on the fence about him and Yula. And I'm intrigued by the idea of Busche/Minen and I'm fond of pretty much the entirety of the Ritterschild crew. There's not a lot of art here and it's not going to be for everyone, but I think the pairings and the focus on characters other than the usual ones, all of that put it over the top for me. <3 (Some Buchse/Mino, some Tsaubern/Yula, some gen.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I fell in love with this site pretty much right from the beginning, but the further and further I got into it, the more I loved it still yet more. The lines are really solid and detailed and there's some really great Liu art, which kind of always wins me over these days. The artist is epsecially good at doing group images that feature the Citro Village characters and the muted colors work really well and it's just a really good site, one of those that reminds me that this fandom is pretty damn awesome. Plus omg Dirk with the others as kidlets, that was totally worth the site alone right there. And that was all before I got to the comic with Luo-Tao and Liu. :D (Mostly gen, some hero/Liu.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It really did not take me long at all to fall in love with this site, it impressed me right from the very first page of art. I love that it focuses on some of the background characters, I love getting to see adorable art of Manaril or the really pretty Ramin images (I love that psychotic little thing), but I also love that it focuses frequently on the main Citro Village characters, too. And I adore the soft colors in combination with the clean lines, it creates a really great style. Hell, I even loved the echa log pages somehow. Plus, a hint of Dirk/Sisuca? Do want. ♥ (No real warnings/pairngs enough to count.)

- Suikoden Teirkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - a;sdlkfjaslkj I tried to resist this site, I really did. But it didn't take long for it to start hitting me with cute Ramin art, sketches and oekaki and just little doodles that were cute and intriguing. Then it was Ramin and Sisuca and it was really adorable. And then Ramin and Numnu and asldkfjaslkjs oh goddammit I'm just that weak to oddball pairing interactions. And these characters, I'm really fond of the ones that made strong impressions--plus, it's been a good day for art for Tierkreis with these characters and this site hit me in just the right mood. (Some various/Ramin, but it's also sort of gen.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I'm going to be at a bit of a loss to explain why I like this site's art so much, aside from just saying that it's kind of in my wheelhouse a little bit. I'm very fond of the Citro Village characters and I've been wanting more of them (despite that I really adore and often seek out the background characters a lot, too) and this site came along at a really good time. It's just... warm and happy and cute and friendly and puts a smile on my face when I go through the galleries. And, while they are the main focus, there are also appearances by background characters as well, which balances the site out nicely. It was just... really nice. ♥ Plus, there's an image in there where Yula is totally sitting on Roberto and it's pretty much just the greatest thing ever. (Half gen, half hero/Liu. Occasionally NSFW.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Siobhan pointed this blog out to me (because I was a genius and didn't notice it's part of a site I already linked) and a;sldkfjaslk I love her for it because it's both pretty and has Asad/Chrodechild art! I-- I still kind of love that pairing a lot, I suspect. But it's also that it's focused on a decent variety of characters (and gets easier to browse when you figure out the Tierkreis category link) and it's really solidly done, pretty art and some of them are downright gorgeous. I almost love the b&w sketches more than the color art just because the lines of the pieces are so good. I definitely want to see still yet more from this artist, of any of the characters, not just pairings. (Mostly gen, a bit of Asad/Chrodechild.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This site took me a bit to figure out how to get around it, but I'm glad I kept with it, because it has some really cute art on the blog page. The colors are bright and I like the sketch quality to the images and there's a decent amount of art here, all things that make me cave on sites. The artist often liked to draw Liu minus a few articles of clothing (also very nice of her) or occasionally Marica or occasionally a cute group image or whatever. It's not a big site, but it has some stuff that was worth looking through and that's all I ask. Especially if it's Liu art. :D (Mostly gen, some hero/Liu.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is another site where I tried to resist and almost pulled away from it, except... Tsuabern and Buchse, it's not a pairing I'd really seen that much of yet. And I remembered Siobhan mentioning that she'd seen it fairly often and that'd gotten my curiosity up and so I stuck around. It's a decent little site, there are some really interesting images in the various log pages and there's a focus on the characters separately as well as together, which is what really won me over ultimately. The lines are sharp and I wasn't bored at all on this site and it was just really interesting. That's more than enough for me. o/ I-- I can kind of feel myself slipping into shipping this because of the site. (Mostly gen, some Tsaubern/Buchse.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I knew I was probably going to be in trouble with this site from the opening page where (at the time of this rec) it had little Buchse and Tsaubern chibis on the front page that were pretty darn cute. And then I got into the site itself and there were a handful of really pretty fully done images that had kind of terrific lines and details and colors. And then there was a lot of sketches of Tsaubern teasing Buchse and pretty art of Minen and Ritterschild characters as kids and it just. Really wasn't long before I was won over. And, hell, even the comics have some really great lineart to them and I've mostly been skipping comics these days. ....so, still, not my favorite pairing for them, but I am really being won over by all this pretty art. *___* (Tsaubern/Buchse.)

- Suikoden Tierkreis - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Apparently, I have somehow found myself in the Tsaubern/Buchse corner of fandom and haven't quite made it back out yet. But I couldn't resist this site, it had a handful of really pretty images! Maybe not quite as much as I'd like, but I really was taken with the water-color-esque/painting-like style of the images, it was something different and interesting to look at. The artist also has some really cute lines and her comics look kind of terrific and it kind of didn't matter that it was a small site, I really enjoyed it anyway! o/ (Tsaubern/Buchse.)

- Tales of Vesperia - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - It's possible that I am re-recommending this site, but. Well. I (re?)fell in love with this site pretty much instantly, just for the colors, which are really vibrant and pretty to look at. I really like the sketch-like style the artist has, where she puts in a lot of nice detail and is pretty disciplined, but it's the bright, vivid colors that go with them so well that really makes it. Her Flynn is especially pretty, but I love that there's also a handful of illustrations of the female characters. It's one of those sites where... I haven't looked at Vesperia art in awhile and maybe Yuri/Flynn isn't my first pairing, but it's the kind of site that revs me back up for this fandom and reminds me of why I do kinda ship these characters, too. Plus, it's just plain old gorgeous art. <3 (Yuri/Flynn, NSFW.)
