- Full Metal Alchemist - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I sat here for quite some time and tried to figure out if I wanted to rec this site or not, because, to be honest, I'm hesitant that people will snag Haruka Sena's fanart again. Her Gravitation fanart is used willy-nilly in the Gravitation fandom and it drives me a little insane. I don't want the same thing to happen to her Full Metal Alchemist fanart. On the other hand... OH MY GOD HOLY SHIT SO GORGEOUS. *____* My reaction to the site? As soon as Di-chan logged on, I immediately said to her: "Haruka Sena doing RoyEd fanart. I have no need for the rest of the day, as it has served its purpose~ *floats~*" And that's really how I feel. Everything that I loved about her artwork with Gravitation is fully present here as well--gorgeous, gorgeous lines, incredible coloring, and she just... she knocks EVERY SINGLE ILLUSTRATION out of the park. There are no fanarts here that are half-assed, they're all incredible, beautiful, and stunning. And when she draws Roy and Ed in the middle of an alchemy fight on a starry background? I sit and STARE at it, because it's both beautiful and incredibly detailed. When she draws a group illustration with all of them? I sit and STARE because her characters are just so damned beautiful. When she draws the guys in the onsen? I continue to stare and drool. And I love that she draws the female characters, too, because they're stunningly beautiful under her hand. But honestly? Her Roy is just the ultimate. He's... well, gorgeous. When he draws him in glasses? OH MY GOD SO HOT. *__* I cannot sing the praises of this site high enough, it's beautiful. Totally one of my favorites, just for the amount of swooning I did alone. Just remember... no takey. And normally I don't go on at length about that, but.... (Some Roy/Ed, some gen.)
- Naruto - RE-MAKE*AKS [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I might not have rec'd this site, since the lines can be a little off sometimes, but... well, then the artist drew this one of Kakashi and Iruka sharing one of those Konoha outfits (Kakashi with the pants, Iruka with the shirt) and I was all, "*____* Heeeeeeee, LOVE YOU~" and was won over. I just... I really like the way the artist draws Iruka, he's really well-done, lots of detail, good use of colors, and all that. It's not perfect art, but I enjoyed going through the site--especially the kissing ones~ *__*--and wanted to shove several images at friends, so. (Kakashi/Iruka.)
- Bleach - Strawberry Angel [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I admit, I'm probably largely rec'ing this site because of the pairing, but... well, hell, I think the illustration of Ichigo and Orihime running from the little pumpkin-headed Kon dolls should be seen by EVERYONE because it's that freaking cute. XD Other than that... yes, the art is very round and cutesy, but it kind of works for a pairing like Ichigo/Orihime, because it just sort of makes me want to pounce on them and snuggle them for hours while making the XD XD XD face. Plus? There's an absolutely stunning illustration of Nami with chibi Luffy and Orihime with chibi Ichigo by Haruka Sena in the gift section. *___* And just... yeah, the site was cute and fun and the first Ichigo/Orihime site I'd seen, so I had to rec it. ♥ (Some Ichigo/Orihime.)
- Saiyuki - Where I Want To Be by Laree - This was... this is what I often imagine the Sanzo x Hakkai relationship to be like--Sanzo isn't a bad person, but he's not a nice person, and he is thoroughly uncompromising on anything he doesn't want to compromise about. And Hakkai... Hakkai is complex and not so easily summed up with words, but the fic does a solid job of doing so. I like that the feeling I get off this fic... it kind of reminds me of what I get while I'm watching the anime, the hurt and angst are there, but they're not unbearable, and there are no real confessions of undying love, but you understand that some things are important. I liked that Kanan wasn't forgotten or left behind, not really, I liked that Hakkai felt like Hakkai, that Sanzo felt like Sanzo, that the whole thing... yeah, I keep coming back to that I could almost FEEL the anime with this series, right down to the colors and style that Studio Pierrot (it was Studio Pierrot that did the series, right?) used.
