Bleach: Clear Skies by imadra_blue - This is a simple fic, just a moment of Ichigo staring up at the cloudless sky after they all return from Hueco Mundo, and Orihime offers to share her lunch, but it's that simple quality that's like the sun breaking through the clouds after the storm that makes it so warm-hearted and sweet. It's adorable and I love that it reflects how much nicer Ichigo is to Orihime and it brings back her batshit crazy foods! After finishing this fic, I just felt all warm and fluffy and happy inside, especially because I like to think that this is the place they'll get to after all the hardships in the HM arc. (Ichigo/Orihime.)

Bleach: when you were very small by peekaydee - This was just too cute for me to pass up. Well, not cute in that it's about Ichigo and Orihime as kids, as her brother dies and that moment when Ichigo has to tell her, but the way they kind of looked at each other as kids, the way Orihime was always beaming and Ichigo was a nice person underneath the scowls, it was just so cute. And I like that, even when he's at a loss for what to say, Ichigo has always been a little kinder to Orihime. ♥ (Sort of Ichigo/Orihime.)

Community: Sexy Sweet by scoob2222 - The more I read for these two, the more I realize, sigh, yeah, I'm sinking pretty fast with this fandom. Because it's so satisfying to have them just finally make out properly and this was an adorably sweet fic that gave me a bit of that satisfaction. I can totally see Annie as being one of those women who just have no idea how they turn people way, way on when they're doing the simplest of things, obv. (Jeff/Annie.)

Glee: That One Time Everyone Was Sort of Nice to Rachel by boonies - So, the Glee cast goes to an STD fair (as snatched from Community, which I heartily approve of!) that Vocal Adrenaline are at and it's full of hilarious antics and absolutely beautiful voices for every single cast member. It's amazing how well the author does at an ensemble fic, so many characters and yet they all get their moments to shine! The dialogue is spot-on and, oh, god, does she ever do beautifully with Finn; I can't even begin to count how many times I was giggling over his adorably dumb lines. And asd;lkjaljks the Puck/Rachel was just that much more icing on the cake. This is an absolute must-read in the fandom. ♥ (Some Puck/Rachel hints, but this is mostly gen.)

Glee: Break You In by kathrynthegr8 - I admit, I picked this one up for the Puck/Rachel because I was curious and I was intrigued by the Artie/Quinn, which I usually prefer as friendship, but wanted to give this one a chance. I'm really glad I did, because this fic has an absolutely fantastic voice for Artie and his view on life and music and the people around him and Quinn in particular and his own being in the chair. Everything felt so incredibly spot on, right down to the background the author put in for Artie's family--which I seriously want to be canon because that's how much I loved the brief glances of Artie's mom and his step-dad. I was actually really comfortable with the movement from platonic to romantic with Artie/Quinn and it was just... wonderful and heart-warming to see it here. I read this fic for one reason, but wound up staying for a completely different one. ♥ (Artie/Quinn and some Puck/Rachel way, waaaay in the background.)

Glee: Twenty Random Facts About Everybody's Favorite Douchebag by une_fille and unequivocally - This was a really fun little fic to read because I really like both authors and the way they write, their take on the characters, especially Puck. And I loved the title, that it reflects that often times Puck is still a total douchebag and the fic follows through on that. Not all of the "random facts" about Puck are nice, some of them show that he's a real dickwad at times, even when there's a person that manages to shine through at other times. I love the focus on his home life and especially his sister, how he's not a horrible older brother. Sure, I read this because it was Puck/Rachel, but I actually liked it for the Puck character study, too. (Some Puck/Rachel and Puck/Quinn, neither are really the point.)

Glee: reruns all become our history by andbless_mybaby - [Note: This fic has triggering content, there is a misscarriage plotpoint in the fic.] If I'd been thinking about it, I maybe should have avoided this fic because of my own triggers of recent. But I saw the warnings and decided to read anyway, which I'm glad for. (And I'm so glad the author put a warning on there, bless her.) Yeah, the funeral scene for the baby destroyed me a little, but I still think it's a beautifully written fic that I empathized with so much. The narrative voice for Puck was spot on, in his dealings with Rachel and the way he looks at the entire world, but especially about the loss of the unborn baby and what that does to him. The author does it brilliantly, she never really has to explicitly state what's going on with him, just the thoughts that are in his head and you can pick up everything that's not being said, and it was just. Really pitch-perfect. This is one of those must-reads in the fandom, imo. The Puck/Rachel relationship is developed fantastically well, but it's also a character piece and an angst piece that worked really well. (Puck/Rachel, NC-17.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: Beautiful Things by nicepantsu - This was an interesting look at Squalo, one that's dark and violent--well, in that Squalo is attracted to violence and death, thinking them both beautiful--which could have been over the top, but instead I can see this fitting his character. (Well, it's over the top in that way that all of KHR is over the top, meaning that I think it kept the spirit of the series. XD) The way he gravitates to Xanxus and it's bloody and painful is perfect, but it's love that's ugly and messy and unwanted, it was an interesting look at the character. (Xanxus/Squalo, a light R, for violence even more than sex.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: Reading Between the Lines by imadra_blue - I appear to be attempting to hit all of my regular KHR pairings today, huh. But 8018 is one of those pairings that I really love a lot, but just don't end up reading a lot of fic for, I'm not sure why. But I liked this one and I think the best part about it is, when Yamamoto is angry with Hibari, it's like getting angry at a brick wall--Hibari just doesn't give a shit about whether or not you think he did something wrong. I loved that that never let up, even when Hibari is always ready for a fight. Toss in some very nice imagery in their bedroom and a really fun Gokudera scene (he was my other favorite in this fic) and I really had fun with this one. (Yamamoto/Hibari.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: Antagonistic Efforts by kasugai-gummie - I honestly don't know what my favorite aspect of this fic was. Was it Mukuro's whimsical yet lethal and hilarious all the way around nature? Was it the back and forth with Hibari, trying to get a rise out of the little demon and not really able to do it? Or was it the conversation between Gokudera and Mukuro that started the whole piece off? I'm probably gonna go with that last one. Seriously, the Mukuro - Gokudera interaction in this fic is beautiful because Mukuro is completely off his rocker and Gokudera doesn't deal well with people like that. And Mukuro makes it as trying as he possibly can, of course. Plus, I really do love this Mukuro and Hibari dynamic, it's both hot and cracks me the hell up, and reminds me of why I love them so effing much. Beautiful. (Mukuro/Hibari.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN!: Dynamics of Predators by istrill - I think this fic could have benefitted from some more author's notes to set up the situation a little more, just a line or two, because I was very confused when I first went into it, thinking it was a canon-based story, when instead it's an AU based story where (I think?) the Cavallone and the Vongola families are at war. That aside, I... okay, I have weaknesses and this fic shamelessly played into them. Exhibitionism isn't usually a kink of mine, but when you couple it with power-plays in a non-secondhand embarrassment squick sort of way, I'm just... mmm, yes plz. Because Hibari lounging all over Dino's lap and being the most deadly thing in the room? Omg do want. *__* (Dino/Hibari.)

The Princess and the Frog: From the Heart by Luc Court - I think, if I hadn't had to keep one hand on the page down key, I may have been in danger of clasping my hands to my heart and going Awwwwww!! at this fic in a truly sickening manner, that is how perfect it was and how much I loved it fiercely. Naveen is one of those characters that I feel can be difficult to genuinely capture in text but, oh, this fic does a pitch-perfect job of getting his attitude and tone of voice and just the whole entire spirit of his character onto the page. His relationship with Tiana and the recipes and his own lack of cooking ability that he doesn't let stop him and the way he finds out how to show Tiana how much she means to him, all of it was lovely. I couldn't ask for a better coda to the movie. ♥ (Naveen/Tiana.)

Bleach Doujinshi (scanslated): All About The Love Confession at Graduation - Granted, the art on this looks more like a fancomic sketch level than a doujinshi, but. It was an Ichigo/Orihime doujinshi, so I had to at least give it a shot. And, oh, the story is adorable and so perfect and there were at least three moments (in only 14 pages so so!) that I may have actually giggled out loud because they were so perfect for the pairing. Orihime struggling to find a way to confess her feelings to Ichigo, the return of her batshit daydreams, Tatsuki being the best friend ever, and as;dlfkjal;skjs oh my god the final page. I laughed and laughed and laughed and am now seriously pining for that as a fic. The characterization of this one was so delightful that I just fell in love with it and couldn't help recommending it. ♥ (Ichigo/Orihime.)

Bleach Doujinshi (scanslated): The Promise - This doujinshi is probably one that's only going to appeal to those who are already fans of the pairing, but. Well, I'm a hardcore shipper, so of course I adored it. It's a simple piece, Ichigo goes to see Orihime in Hueco Mundo, but she's been "reborn" and no longer wishes to return to her previous life, but he tells her to remember her promise and begs her to return home. It just-- hit me where I live, the desperation and how deep both their feelings are, and the lovely end to it. I kind of adored it ridiculously, shut up. (Ichigo/Orihime.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated): USO? HONTO? - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable.] God, sometimes I love Japan. It just embraces its crack and clearly enjoys it, especially with the Dino/Hibari pairing. And this one is certainly not meant to be taken seriously, not with Dino picking Hibari up and setting him on Dino's lap and then snuggling Hibari without getting hit in the face. And it's all about Hibari refusing to say he loves Dino, which just makes Dino love the little shit all the more, love him so much he could just die! And you'd think I should hate it or roll my eyes or whatever, but instead I just go with it. Somehow the doujinshika made it amusing! (Dino/Hibari.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated): Bambina? - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable.] When I read the first half of this doujinshi, I was very "...." about it, because it just seemed so non-sensical and more OOC than even I was willing to put up with in doujinshi. But, hey, Hibari in a schoolgirl skirt is Hibari in a schoolgirl skirt, who am I to complain? So, I kept reading. And then there was schoolgirl outfit!Hibari sex in Dino's car and I started warming up to the doujinshika because I am at peace with my kinks and it was really kind of super hot. And then. Then came the panels where it all came together and everything suddenly made crystal-clear sense (as much as anything in KHR can make "sense") and I burst into laughter so hard that I had to shove my fist against my face to stifle it. Seriously, I was just about crying over this doujin. I dunno, maybe I have an odd sense of humor, but this was just perfect for me and hit me exactly right. (I feel badly explaining that there's a joke in there, like the surprise of it might be what made it so funny, because I wasn't expecting it, but I want people to keep reading past the beginning!) God, I love these characters and this fandom. (Dino/Hibari, NC-17.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (raw): Helpless - The thing about the Byakuran/Shouichi pairing is that it can seem really cute on the surface, just another silly pairing when Shouichi is so adorably serious-faced and Byakuran is so smiley and whimsical. But it's really not a very nice pairing at all and this doujinshi gets more into that, with sex that's not exactly happy or with Shouichi wanting to be there, but that's part of the fascination for me. Plus, it's done in that art style that's kind of messy and a little stylized and they're all complete sticks, but I like that with them, too. I enjoyed adding this to my collection of 10051 doujinshi and that's all I need. Plus, some of the panels of Byakuran, especially in closeups, were kind of awesome. (Byakuran/Shouichi, somewhere between R and NC-17.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (raw, sort of?): Crystal - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm should be easily joinable.] This isn't a doujinshi in the usual sense; there's no story here at all. Instead it's just a series of color splash pages put into one book and I may have originally picked this up because I was curious how a Mukuro x Tsuna x Hibari story would go, but I think I love this even more. The art is just gorgeous throughout the book, each of the images is more gorgeous than the last and I can hardly be pressed to pick a favorite. (That's a lie, it's totally the one of Dino, I believe, because I'm easy for him. But otherwise... nooo, you can't make me choose!) Even if you're not really that big of a fan of that threesome, if you like any of the characters or just like looking at pretty KHR art, I totally recommend this one. (Sort of Mukuro/Tsuna/Hibari, but sort of gen, too.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated): Buon Compleanno! - asl;dkfjalskj oh when Yamamoto/Hibari is done right, it really hits the right notes for me. This is a great little doujinshi--the premise is that, in the days between their birthdays, Yamamoto will exchanges wishes with Hibari, which ends up being unlimited wishes on Hibari's part and only one for Yamamoto, but he still takes the deal. It's not as far out of reach as it'd sound from the premise, because the opening conversation about Yamamoto's idea is hilarious for Hibari's flat answers and then it's fun watching him given endless orders when he's lazily playing with Yamamoto. And then the ending is just. al;sdfkjaslkj awww, Yamamoto! ♥ (Yamamoto/Hibari.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated): Danza!! - I think... in order to be able to enjoy this one, you have to be able to accept complete and utter cracked out doujinshi... well, not just accept them, but revel in them. I think it also helped that I read the doujinshika's notes on this, where it clearly stated that this was a parody, so I sat back and read it with the mind of mocking the ooc stuff that often floats around doujinshi and just... it's kind of hilarious for that. Mukuro is completely different, he's passive and serious-faced all the time and so different and it just sort of made me laugh. Byakuran was about on target, but he was smiley and a cheerful dick, so that wasn't hard. Plus, the art is pretty and I have a thing about this pairing, so. I was pretty entertained by this. XD (Byakuran/Mukuro.)

Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (raw): nicoletti - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm should be easily joinable.] I didn't even have to get halfway into this doujinshi before I knew I was going to absolutely love it. The first ten pages of this doujinshi are just gorgeous and make one hell of an opener, with Xanxus' hazy nightmarish state and the glimpses of other people he gets through it, the art is carefully arranged and beautifully drawn and I could look at doujinshi like this forever. Both characters look fantastic and really spot-on with Amano's style and, even when the story is serious, it never entirely loses that shounen idiocy and roughness that these characters need. It's another one of those Xanxus/Squalo stories that just make me sit back and marvel at its fanbase and how goddamn awesome their doujinshi is. *___* (Xanxus/Squalo.)

Prince of Tennis Doujinshi (scanslated): Non-Harmonic Note - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable.] I'm unsure how to write the rec for this doujinshi. Because there are aspects of it that would drive a lot of people nuts, I suspect. Fuji is drawn very delicately and the sex scene is a little questionable on consent (there's the usual "wait! stop!" and nobody actually stops, but it's not really an issue for the characters) and I feel I should only like this as a guilty pleasure. At the same time, the focus of the doujinshi is on how small and delicate Fuji is and how much that really makes him angry and he hates it. The art is very much about making the characters thin and whispy, but there are certain panels that are genuinely just lovely and I wound up kind of adoring the art genuinely. Did I enjoy this doujinshi? Hell yes. I found this take on Fuji really interesting and I like this Tezuka (except maybe during the obligatory sex scene) and it's close to my preferred dynamic for them. Just... with some caveats that I kind of pretend aren't there. >_> All in all, though, I loved this doujinshi a lot. ♥ (Tezuka/Fuji.)

Tales of the Abyss Doujinshi (scanslated): Promised Land I -Return- - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable. There are also spoilers for the end of the game.] Okay, this is what I am now considering canon for the ending of the game. Both Asch and Luke came back, Natalia totally pounced on Asch and wouldn't let go, and there was an actual plot going on. Totally what happened. And, yes, I picked this doujinshi up because I wanted some Asch/Natalia, but I didn't expect to get an actually interesting plot that captured the spirit of the game so well! I love the conversation they all had in Tattaroo Valley, about the reasons why both came back and the state of affairs in the world, I could just so easily see this genuinely happening post-game. Both the doujinshi and the translators really did a bang-up job with the beginnings of the plot (and the evil cliffhanger this doujinshi ended on) so that it's already one of my faves, even if the art might be a little off-putting to some. It's cute, though! ♥ I'm just so grateful to the fandom for letting me have this to read! (Asch/Natalia, implications of Luke/Tear.)

VOCALOID Doujinshi (raw): Duo - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable. Also, I am recommending both doujinshi on this page together.] I have this thing about VOCALOID's Kaito. I don't know why I like him so much, but I just do. I tend to ship him the most with Miku but I'll also read pretty much ANYONE/Kaito and this doujinshi came along at the right time in my VOCALOID phase.... It's a couple of cute stories, a bunch of ice cream jokes, a bunch of moments where Kaito is pretty much under everyone's thumb, and some occasionally really cute panels. All I ask for from VOCALOID fandom! (Some Gakupoid/Kaito and some Master/Kaito, but it's all entirely G-rated.)

fandomsecrets has become like 4chan for me--if you go in knowing it's full of trolls and obnoxious tools and utter morons, it's actually kind of fun to watch the three-ring circus sometimes.

Oh, sure, you risk those times where you want to punch someone in the face because they make you so rageful (and that certainly happened early on in the meme!) but the pages and pages of people whining about how fandom doesn't go their way? Hilarious!

I love that movie so dearly. ♥ It's Disney actually trying again and there are so many things they did RIGHT with Tiana! (You don't just get handed things, you have to work for what you want! SHE HAS A MOM OMG.)

Yessssssss exactly. Tiana is the greatest, Naveen in the type of wellmeaning goober I love in princes, and I love that Charlotte and Tiana's relationship was positive and supportive the whole way through. Not the usual two girls fighting over one guy thing.

OMG YES. How wonderful was it that Charlotte and Tiana's friendship was never threatened by a guy?
