- One Piece - Leaks by Sherry Marie - And, of course, here I go again with the rec'ing of drabbles when I should be reading the longer fics. I know. But, dammit, I'm running out of One Piece manga and anime to read and, wahhh, I'm all obsessed again. Plus, this was just... oh, man, this is what I needed. Sanji and Zoro were beautifully in character and the writing is lovely, very smoothly written, and just... *cackles* the end is PERFECT OMG SO PERFECT. Especially Sanji's last thought right before they start speaking again. That just... *cackles more* XD XD XD Oh, yeah, and the very faint hint at sex was nice. *hums happily* (Zoro/Sanji.)
- One Piece - Leaving Your Mark by Celeste - This just... you know how sometimes you're at a loss for words as to how much you enjoyed the fuck out of something? How it left you with a case of the giggles or a bit shit-eating grin or just so entirely vibed with you that it left you feeling sated and like you couldn't have asked for anything more? Yeah. Right from the moment Zoro ruins the moment at the beginning to Sanji's revenge at the end, there is no point of this fic that I didn't love. Fabulous, fabulous dialogue that is SO LIKE THEM, not flinging away from the swearing or insults, yet not being crude about it or destroying that sense of friendship they have. Or. You know. Something-that's-not-quite-hate-ship they have. This is Sanji and Zoro and it's fucking funny and even beyond that it's CLEVER and just so beautifully THEM. From the way Zoro viewed their relationship to Sanji's snarling at him for being an idiot to Zoro insulting the love-cook right back to the way you never doubted for a second that sense of strength they have (I loved, loved, loved, LOVED that Zoro never thought HE would kick anyone's ass if they commented on their relationship, it was always THEY, because Sanji's strength is a complete given, that Zoro really, honestly respects him that much.), and did I mention the fabulous, fabulous, fabulous banter? God, I'm still laughing. This is my perfect ZoSan and I am IN LOVE all over again. It's just... if ZoSan was gonna happen in canon, this is how it would happen. Also? The end? I cannot think of it without giggling all over again. Seriously. (Zoro/Sanji.)
- One Piece - Adult Entertainment by Celeste - *cackles* Oh, this is just... this is one of the best OP drabbles ever. Seriously. Because... just... the Straw Hat pirates having to find their own entertainment in the middle of the ocean... and... just... *dissolves into laughter again* I could just picture this in my head, complete with the In a near-silent flurry of chairs and crates and hushed whispers, the crew of the Going Merry assembled for today’s show. And the WAY they watch... *dies* such perfect body language for the crew. ♥ (Zoro/Sanji.)
- One Piece - Stimulation by Sherry Marie - Damn the OP drabble comm, because more good fic comes through there... anyway, this was cute in that oblivious-to-anything-but-sharp-and-pointy-things!Zoro and god-you're-an-idiot!Sanji sort of way. Plus, the author always keeps up the ZoSan banter, making it irritable and aggrivated, but still keeping the whole 'nakama' thing underneath all that, even without having to say it. <3 (Zoro/Sanji.)
- Full Metal Alchemist - The Other Set of Footsteps by Harukami - So, okay, Harukami was showing me some of the FMA caps she'd made, right? And there was this one of a REALLY SUGGESTIVE hand gesture when Roy was towering over poor Fury holding (the then-unnamed) Black Hayate and I just sort of looked at my nails and said in a PERFECTLY INNOCENT VOICE, "Haaaaaaaaruuuuuu~ It's a shame that this pairing doesn't officially exist in the fandom yet. You should write it~" (Listen to no claims that she said! I never touched her dog!! I am innocent!) And... I dunno, maybe if I hadn't seen the screen capture ahead of time or if I hadn't been in just the right mood, I might not have given this story a read. Roy and... Fury? Bwuh? I might have passed right on by, dismissing it as Not My Cuppa. But I did read it, because I couldn't get past the idea, and... just... this was lovely. It was so touchingly in character and believable and it FELT RIGHT that I couldn't recoil from it, I couldn't go, "Ewww, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" at it. Maybe it's not going to be for everyone. But, damn, Haru's Roy is just fantastic--even though you can't point out specific examples, you get this sense of a layered, complex, fascinating character with him, and OMG FURY IS SO CUTE I JUST WANT TO HUG THE ADORABLE LITTLE THING! The writing is beautiful, as well, just... the EXACT RIGHT TONE this story needed. Not angsty, but not parody/humor, just... I dunno. It's almost like the sensation of cool water over my hands--something clean and clear and not too hot, not too cold, and that flows in a graceful arc. I can't explain it better than that. (Roy/Fury. Yes. FURY.)
- Kyou Kara Maou - Minty by anahita - Heh. This is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for with MaruMa fic (aside from other pairing preferences and smut, of course XD), something that's silly, fluffy, and keeping in tone with the original series itself. Anissinia's batshit inventions and... just... general Anissinia-ness is great, Gwendal's crankiness is great (especially since he doesn't WANT to be the one to massage Gunther's back XD) and the conversation between Anissinia and Cecilie was just PERFECT for this batshit, hysterical series. Just... something about Anissinia and Cecilie talking about a pheramone perfume and the way the fic ends, it's just... *laughing* I ♥ this series. (A little bit Gwendal/Gunther.)
- Gravitation - Disarmament by Katie - This was a cute fic about one Mizuki and Yuki's meetings about handing over his manuscript and was just... the writing was good, the dialogue and characterizations smooth, and it was nice to see Mizuki strike back for once, considering the hell Yuki probably puts her through. I admit, knowing Yuki's issues and past, I kind of wondered how much his reaction was surprise versus genuine panic of the very bad kind, but.... >_> But, the strength of this fic was that it was cute, funny, and sparkled. Plus, yay for Mizuki fic~ ^__^ (No warnings/pairings.)
- Gravitation - Everyone's a Critic by NemKess - This was another cute little fic that gave me a small fix when I needed it this morning. And I liked that Yuki was Yuki in that he never would give Shuuichi a compliment ('cause that's just not Yuki AND Shuuichi's lyrics suck), but somehow Shuuichi does know how to find the not-so-mean things in Yuki's statements and doesn't let much get him truly down. Plus, I liked the end. ^___^ (Yuki/Shuuichi.)
- Gravitation - Yuki and the Art of Writing by Celeste - Awww, more Gravi cuteness! XD Yuki's insistence--while Shuuichi manages to bother him even from however many, many miles away, just by calling him, even when he doesn't pick up the phone... which amuses me greatly, too--that the heroine from his current novel was going to DIE, dammit, she wasn't going to live was cutely amusing. Plus, I just liked these lines: Resolved, he decided to leave it at the fact that he had absolute power when it came to his stories, and none whatsoever when it came to his annoying, loudmouthed, idiotic boyfriend. Maybe if he resigned himself to the fact he wouldn’t get so many headaches over the whole thing. XD (Yuki/Shuuichi.)
- Weiss Kreuz - A Small Matter by Cosmorific - It's been awhile since I read any WK fic that I really liked (I like the yaoi, but lately... I dunno, unless it's PERFECT, it hasn't been catching my attention, so I was curious about this fic, since it'd been labelled gen) and just... oh, you can see where the fic is going from a mile away, but that's the BEAUTY of it. Because the writing is smooth and the author writes the story so that you can just PICTURE it in your head and that's perfect for this kind of fic. I smiled the entire way through it and just... EEEEEE OMG CHIBI AYA SO CUTE I WANNA HOLD HIM EVEN IF HE WOULD BITE ME EEEEEE SO CUTE! XD (No warnings/pairings.)
- Weiss Kreuz - Fantasy by Yuuki Miyaka - I liked this Yohji POV story because... well, I have a strong fondness for YoKen, of course, but also because it sort of strides that line between a huge amount of angst and just being Another Day, because it felt like Yohji in that sense of... wanting something but thinking he could never have it, fantasizing about Ken (which I normally don't go for in fic, but it worked for me here), and just never making a move, defeated even before he tried... that's just so Yohji-like to me and as much as I'd like to kick him in the ass for it, this was a lovely little fic. (Some light-ish YoKen, I wouldn't even give this a content warning.)
