Final Fantasy VIII: Accrete by Akare - I'm a sucker for a collection of scenes/drabbles all put together to make a longer fic. Yeah, these are only drabble-length, but there's 26 of them, which made for a pretty satisfying read this morning! I was also impressed that the scenes genuinely felt the right length, that each one contributed to a larger whole but didn't need to be more than what each of them were. Plus, the way Zell and Seifer were written, how they never lost that edge of fighting with each other, especially on Zell's side, was really nice to see. And, oh, bless the author for the bits of porn in there, too! :Db (Seifer/Zell, occasionally somewhere between R and NC-17.)
Final Fantasy VIII: untitled + Ways to Pass the Time by Akare - I'm recommending these two together since they're directly related, the second won't make much sense without the first. Well, it would, but they go better together. Anyway. This is a simple sort of set up--Zell and Seifer on a mission together, Zell accidentally falls into the frozen lake, he needs warming up, and hey Seifer is there. I really liked how they were both clearly attracted to each other, both wanted the sex, but it didn't lose it's snarky edge, they were both still flinging insults at each other, even as they wanted the other to hurry the hell up. I love rivalsex when it takes on that tone, which made this a fun treat this morning! (Seifer/Zell, NC-17.)
Gravitation: Open and Carefree by cuethe_pulse - I would have read this fic--or at least given it a shot--regardless of whether it was good or not, because Hiro/Ayaka fic is so rare. But then this fic was just perfect for Ayaka's character, who gets nervous and fluttery over something so simple as wearing a pair of jeans, because it's out of the norm for her. I adored her in this fic, where she tries so hard to make them carefree and comfortable, so nervous about something so simple, and then with the really heartwarming, perfect ending! She's a lovely girl and this fic absolutely did her justice and just. Oh, my heart. (Hiro/Ayaka.)
One Piece: Roronoa Zoro: World's GreatestSwordsman Bug-Killer by Tammaiya - This fic is really funny and hilarious because, yes, of course Sanji would be afraid of bugs and deal with it exactly like this and of course Zoro's life would be full of pain. It's fun because Sanji is still Sanji about it and even when he wants something from Zoro, it's not like he's going to be nice about it or anything! But what I also love about this fic is that it doesn't forget there are other Strawhats around, especially the PURE GOLD ENDING OMG. I think Luffy might be my favorite thing just about ever in this fic homg. XD Though, Chopper comes a seriously close second and, hell, I love everyone's reactions to the bugs in this fic! (Zoro/Sanji.)
One Piece: untitled by clarify - Siobhan linked this fic to me and I was almost wary of it because kinkmemes and I often do not get along, but... as;dflkjas;lkj oh man this fic just hit me exactly right--Zoro is out in the forest and finds a trail of familiar clothes, until he comes upon a naked Sanji and things go about how you'd expect from there. I like it for the Zoro point of view, which is fun and snappy but still IC for his character, but also for the dynamic between him and Sanji that hits me where I live--snarky and pissy with each other, but both really want this to happen. The sex was super, super hot (one of my favorites, especially from recent times, mmm) but the alternate ending was also total gold, heeee. It's a simple story concept and it's not meant to be more than pwp, but if you like ZoSan, I think it's one of the bigger must-read fics I've come across in awhile. *__* (Zoro/Sanji, NC-17.)
One Piece: Anger by cuethe_pulse - You know, as much as I love the current arc, I've definitely been pining for more of the Strawhats, too, especially since I started going back to all the shiny ZoSan doujinshi out there. And then came the fic that Siobhan's been writing and linking me towards. And then there was this fic. Which was set post-Thriller Bark, after Zoro took on all of Luffy's wounds and nearly died, where the writing captures the sheer intensity and painful sharpness that was everything Zoro went through and what that put Sanji through. I love this Zoro, because he felt spot on to me in regards to how he's actually a pretty observant, intelligent guy and he notices shit. He just usually doesn't care much one way or the other. But when he does... it's intense like this and Sanji being just so furious and angry only made it all the more delicious a read. (Zoro/Sanji.)
One Piece: Classic Disney Romance Moments: Epically Retold with Zoro and Sanji by cuethe_pulse - Apparently, I'm in quite the ZoSan mood again, so I've been going back through a lot of the fics posted over the last year or so, kind of inhaling them (for my usual rate, anyway) and that got me to stumble over this one, where it's several various Disney movies as retold with Zoro and Sanji. I had been smiling throughout the whole thing, but it was when I got to the Hercules tale that I kind of totally lost it because asd;lfkja;slks ahahahaha that's perfect for Zoro and Sanji. I love how the author touches on the original movies, but gives them all very clear ZoSan twists and making them genuinely hilarious. ♥ (Zoro/Sanji.)
One Piece: Breaking by cuethe_pulse - Well, eventually I had to get back into the more heartbreaking stuff again, too. Set during the Water 7 arc, where the Strawhats are falling apart for awhile, Robin and Usopp are both gone, Chopper's crying all the time, and Sanji is a mess and needs something, which Zoro can give him. And I love how it's not really an established relationship, but it's not a first time, either. How it balances between their usual dynamic and something more comforting because that's what's needed right then. I especially love the descriptions of the previous times they'd been together because I can just totally see that, but I love how... hard and painful and wrenching this piece is, to go along with everything they were going through at that point. (Zoro/Sanji.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated): Rebirth [ part 1 - part 2 - part 3 ] - [Note: These posts are locked, but the comm is freely joinable. Also, the images are emmbedded directly into the post, so there's a load time warning on this one as well.] I don't read a lot of Spanner/Tsuna, despite that I can easily see where it comes from. But this one looked so pretty that I couldn't resist, especially if it was going to be in English! The doujinshi caught my attention right away with pretty characters and an interesting plot--Tsuna's body is being worn out by the Dying Will Flame, Shamal says, so can Spanner figure out a machine that will be able to use it instead?--and then followed it up with Tsuna being on edge and worried, while continuing with the pretty art. I mean, the art's not perfect, but I'm a sucker for this kind of style. And I really liked Spanner's realization in the third part--the reason Tsuna can show his weaker side to Spanner is because he's not important to Tsuna, who has trouble doing that with people who are close to him. The ending was also kind of a total heartbreaker and as;dlkfjal;ksjs it wasn't what I was expecting at all, which is kind of what made it a really awesome little doujin to have picked up. *__* (Implied Spanner-->Tsuna.)

Doujinshi (raw): Toshishita no Otokonoko - [Note: This post is locked, but the comm is freely joinable.] I hesitated over whether or not to recommend this doujinshi, because it pretty much is 117 pages of pure kink with Dino/Hibari, but... well, it's 117 pages of porn! With Dino and Hibari! As long as you read the warnings/labels on this post carefully (because they're pretty accurate about what you're getting into here), I think you should be able to tell if it's something you want to read or not. And, hell, not all of the stories were ones that were in my wheelhouse, but there was enough really pretty art and enough interesting kind of kink (I did have to laugh at the lipstick play because, OH FANDOM ILU) that I'm glad I snagged this one as well. I love that the fandom puts out this kind of thing and I think it could be fun--so long as you keep the warnings firmly in mind. (Dino/Hibari, NC-17, read the labels for the various kinks before you view!)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated): Janice, Love is Revealed - This was a really interesting doujinshi to read! Of course I picked it up because it was Dino/Hibari and I try to give almost all D18 doujinshi a chance, but it had a certain something that... well, I have a hard time putting it into words. It's a simple story, Hibari is annoyed that Dino keeps putting him off, so he goes to Italy in his usual Hibari way, and accidentally gets tossed 10 years back into the past and meets Dino briefly, then finds a journal of his, and learns a lot more about Dino. I love how it gives both characters and the relationship a bit more depth, especially without breaking Hibari's flat expression, and the ending was sweet as well. The art is pretty, the kind you need to just see in action to really get how solidly done this is, but it made for a fantastic treat this morning, too. (Dino/Hibari.)
Katekyou Hitman REBORN! Doujinshi (scanslated): 1/1 - This is a short piece, just part of an anthology and it wound up being only 5 pages long, but! It's a Banyu doujinshi and her art is gorgeous as always here and it doesn't even necessarily have to be more than a platonic sort of interaction between Dino and Hibari, which is kind of neat to see sometimes. It's a simple story--Hibari wears a kimono on new year's day, which becomes a tradition--but it's the little things that make this worthwhile. Getting to see Dino in one as well, seeing Banyu draw I-Pin and Lambo briefly, the gorgeous art for all of them! I loved this a lot. ♥ (Dino/Hibari.)

Another short one that's only about five pages long, but the art is gorgeous and the story is hilarious and didn't need to be any longer than it was. It's an important day for Dino and he comes all the way from Italy to share that with Hibari and give him a present that has a lot of meaning to Dino, which deepens the connection between them. And, oh, man, did I want to go all flaily over the scene where Dino takes Hibari's hand and promises to love him forever, because this doujinshika can make stuff like that work and break my heart a little for the characters. Plus, the ending was perfect for Hibari and his relationship with Dino. XD (Dino/Hibari.)

They are both OUT OF THEIR MINDS and BATSHIT CRAZY in their own ways. It's an April Fool's doujinshi, of course, and Dino plans to pull a joke on Hibari and it... goes about as well as you'd expect. I'm definitely warming up to Tanaka Ball's style, some of her close-ups on Dino and Hibari's faces were really, really pretty. It's another short one, at only eight pages long, but it didn't need to be longer and it was kind of ridiculously cute, in that D18-ish sort of way. (Dino/Hibari.)
