First post....
Jul. 25th, 2003 05:13 pmI figured I should probably first talk a little about what I'm going to be using this journal for, even though I'll edit the bio later. I do a lot of fanworks rec'ing (I post to Special Campers as I go along and eventually archive everything at Fleeting Fancies.) and while I don't claim to be the best ever at it (I fangirl-fawn a little too much, I suspect. ^_~), I do a lot, because I have a spastic attention span. XD
I decided to make a mirror for LiveJournal because I had an extra journal and I like the ability to do cut-tags and some of the other stuff LJ offers. (Including comments if anyone ever wants to yell at me for liking something they thought was a piece of crap or shoving something my way. I waaaaaaaaaaant more recommendations. Give!)
The series you'll largely find here are some of those fun new shounen series like Prince of Tennis (*squeak*squeal*squee*every other squ-fangirl-word out there*), Naruto, Get Backers, Hikaru no Go, etc. But I also frequently indulge myself in things like Harukanaru Toki no Nakade, Yami no Matsuei, Gravitation, Weiss Kreuz, and whatever the hell else I feel like.
But, yeah, Prince of Tennis and Naruto are going to dominate. ^_____^v
edit: *adds a bit* And let me take a moment to note that while I am not doing a review site here, when I'm not crazy about certain things in a particular story, I try to note the major ones, because I would want to know ahead of time if I were reading the rec on someone else's site. In a recent discussion, someone mentioned that rec sites aren't about rec'ing anything that's well written, it's about rec'ing something you like and visitors to the rec site fairly quickly learn if the rec'ers tastes mesh with their own. So, if I'm allowed to be a little bit wanktastic, I try to not just blindly rec things, I try to note when something didn't work for me, but I still enjoyed the overall story, and let others decide if they want to read it or not. So, if I ever sound overly harsh, my apologies; it's not my intent. Nor, again, is it my intent to write reviews, I just... want to give visitors a better understanding of my own tastes to help them figure out if their tastes mesh with my own.
