I absolutely love shipping, I'm drawn to it no matter how hard I may (or may not) try to stay away. I think fandom is wonderful for giving us so much porn! I want more of it! But I also feel restless sometimes because there's not the same kind of in-depth discussion of the plot going on and interesting shit is going down, aside from just pairings! I'm torn.
      Most people seem to agree, but I did like this comment about why that commentor seeks out ship fic when going to fandom. Which I also find a lot of truth in. But I do wish there were at least more discussion of plotful things.

Except Shizuo deserves better." - Aside from the genderbending aspect, I'm actually finding the whole "deserves better" thing kind of interesting in DRRR!! fandom. Setting aside how I don't really ship based on one person "deserving" another, I say this as someone who like Shizuo best: I bet he's not exactly easy to live with, either. Does he "deserve" better? Maybe. But if he is going to get so wrapped up in Izaya every time the obnoxious brat comes around, practically to the exclusion of everything else around him, well. I'm going to ship Shizuo/Izaya anyway.
