Notes/Babbling: I'm sure there were a lot of things I wanted to say, but, for the life of me, I cannot think of what they were. ~_~ Anyway, here's a bunch of art and a little fic mixed in. ♥
Series:
Full Metal Alchemist - 1 Fanfic
Prince of Tennis - 1 Fanfic
Prince of Tennis - 3 Fanart
    Prince of Tennis/Detective Conan - 1 Fanart
    One Piece - 1 Fanart
    Slam Dunk - 2 Fanart

- Full Metal Alchemist - A Morning In by Vikki - Have I never rec'd this particular fic of Vikki's? I could have sworn I did.... Anyway, a lot of people may not care for this story because it does contain themes of reluctant uke and dominance issues, but not in a psychological sort of way, but... mm, more like a yaoi manga. I hate to put up a big, neon sign because that's not what the fic is about, but at the same time, I like my warnings clear-cut. Anyway. What I adore about Vikki's writing holds true here just as much as in any other piece of her writing--she does this fantastic banter between the characters, makes me just hear them. And I like that they're not schmoopily in love, but that there's genuine affection there, and it shows in the way Roy touches Ed especially. Plus? Very hot sex. I never mean to go, "Oh, I don't even read smut for the sex, I'm all about the characters. *nose in the air*" ^_~ I love smut for smut's sake as much as the next rabid little yaoi fangirl and Vikki's fic hits all those buttons for me that I like hit. *___* (RoyxEd, graphic content, reluctant-uke themes.)

- Prince of Tennis - The Case of the Missing Panties by Le Penguin - Pengie has this sense of humor that's really missing in a lot of anime fandoms lately--the completely, off-the-wall, whacky, but still genuinely hysterical writer. There used to be more of these types of authors (and maybe there are still the same amount, it's just that they're getting overshadowed by all the more 'dramatic' writers), which is a shame because Prince of Tennis needs more authors like her. XD What I loved about this fic? I'm sort of waffling on the fence about Rikkai right now, but the kind of team dynamics Pengie writes for them... I could fall in love with those characters. They're a team and they're all wonderfully individual, but still snarky and, well, frankly, obnoxious in their own ways, and she plays on those traits beautifully. This is just... funny and I giggled the entire way through. It doesn't hurt that I ♥ her SanaYuki. *___* (SanadaYukimura, implied YagyuuNiou--YAY!!--and JackalMarui.)

- Prince of Tennis - MeteOr [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - This artist does some really wonderful things with a watercolor-like style; her basic art style (ie, the lines and proportions) is really well-done, but it's the combination of those lines and the colors that make me *hanyan~* over this artist's work. She did this mini-series of Tezuka and Atobe in the middle of playing that are just gorgeous, really beautiful quality art. Then she also does some lovely soft kisses/almost-kisses that make me wibble with love. I'm not sure how else to explain why I rather like this artist's style, so I'll just say pretty a bunch more times. ^_~ (TezukaAtobe.)

- Prince of Tennis - AirNip [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - You know, there's nothing quite like under-oekaki ZukaAto art to cheer a person up after they've had a crappy day. ♥ I came across this site while browsing through the "Even" event listings and was so very pleasantly surprised to hit on a ZukaAto site that I'd never seen before, especially one that draws rather nice art--their Atobe is darling and their Tezuka is cute as well. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I've come to really adore this style of art, because... well, any site that has an image that makes me go awww! (like the one of Tezuka and Atobe from the back, in their tennis uniforms, sitting side by side as Atobe leans over to kiss Tezuka ♥) or any site with pretty smut makes me happy. XD Plus, I like the top illustration, it's clean and the soft use of colors appeals to me. (TezukaAtobe.)

- Prince of Tennis - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I admit, this is yet another site that I waffled on for a bit, but eventually came down on the side of because the Yagyuu art here totally made me go *____*. The most recent one (as of the time I write this rec) is a stunning one of Yagyuu in formal (if girly) traditional clothing where the colors and lines are just stunning. But the entire site is really nice--the artist clearly loves Niou especially, but still likes both characters and draws them in such a way that... mmm, it's hard to put my finger on it, but I really like the artist's basic linework, I think. The proportions feel right and that's such an important part of the framework of a piece. Plus, how can I not love a site that has a really nice illustration of Niou with the subtle detail of him holding Yagyuu's glasses? *hearts* (Yagyuu/Niou.)

- Prince of Tennis/Detective Conan - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - The first thing to catch my attention on this site was the fabulous top illustration of Momo and Ryoma; then, after going through the gallery, I continued to fall more and more in love with their MomoRyo, since they do some of the best art I've seen for the pairing. There's far too little MomoRyo out there, so it's nice to find an artist that's really good like this (Ryoma's eyes are a little odd, but I'm completely in love with the lines and colors--her shading and strong use of CG are really professional-level, in my opinion) and to scratch that itch I needed. Plus, hey, any site that lets me scratch a bunch of odd pairings off my list (Nanjiroh/Akutsu!? BWAH. ♥♥) As for the Detective Conan fanart... I really can't comment too much, given that I really don't know the characters at all, just that I wanted to shove the site up into a DC section since I want to eventually have a section for them. At any rate, the art is very pretty, probably even moreso than the Tenipuri stuff. The lines and colors look a bit softer here, less CG-ish and a bit more like they were hand-drawn. The details continue to be fabulous and a couple of the illustrations are just flat-out amazing. (Mostly MomoRyo, lots of other yaoi, though.)

- One Piece - Bajo el sol [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I don't remember how I got on the idea of looking for Kuro fanart this morning, but I ran across a link somehow and started following other links and just got into a One Piece mood this morning, which makes me glad I did, because holy crap some of the art on this page is gorgeous. It's not as Kuro-centric as I was originally hoping for, but that quickly came to no matter at all, because the art so very well captures the spirit of the series and is really, really well-done. There's this one image of Zoro and Kuro fighting that just totally and utterly made me go *____* because it was SO COOL (and beautiful). There were also some fantastic Smoker illustrations (I have an odd sort of crush on Smoker, I think), there were some really neat poster-style illustrations for the whole crew, and the Zoro illustrations were fantastic. Great details, great lines, great colors, I was just a happy, happy fangirl here. ♥ (No warnings/pairings... well, maybe a little bit of Kuro/Jango.)

- Slam Dunk - H2PJ [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I don't even remember how I got onto this site, but I think I was surfing a Tenipuri site, it had some cute SD fanart, I hit the links page and... well, here I am. I am in absolute fangirl bliss over this artist's work, because it's gorgeous, gorgeous CG work (her colors and shading and lines are all just tremendously well-done, very professional-level quality here), because her Rukawa is beautiful, because her Hanamichi is lovely, because her art is just top-notch. The colors she uses are really nice for Slam Dunk--Hanamichi's red hair is vivid and stands out, a wonderful counterpart to the dark-haired (prettyprettypretty) Rukawa, making them a great-looking pair. *__* The lines and details of their hair and faces are especially beautifully done and I love that they're still very much guys in her art, that they're big, muscled guys, yet they're still pretty. Plus? Some light smut that's nice. Though, I think the one of them in yukata, with Rukawa's hand sliding up underneath it, Hanamichi's arms draped across his shoulders is my favorite from the site, it's just... the absolute right thing to make me fall in love. *hanyan~* (RuHana, occasional content warnings.)

- Slam Dunk - Soleil Club [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I admit, I hesitated on this site at first, because not everything was my particular cup of tea, but by the time I was clicking through all of the different galleries, the artist was doing some absolutely lovely work. Her comic is adorable (and slightly smutty, which always makes me happy ♥) and her b&w sketches were often times just beautiful. She especially did a gorgeous Rukawa, her lines smooth, clean, lovely, and wonderfully detailed. If you keep poking around the site, she does more adorable, wonderfully-drawn RuHana, that just sort of... had the right feel to them, in my eyes. Very nice site. ^_^v (RuHana.)

*glomps* You're quite welcome, I'm always happy to help. ^_~ (And I find myself surprised at how many circles/artists I'm starting to recognize--you can tell that's how badly you've become addicted to a series, when you can start spotting doujinshi artists and their fanart. >_>)
