Notes/Babbling: TezuFuji and RoyEd. Oh, my darling babies, I love you forever and ever and ever. And Yuki/Shuuichi, I shall never abandon you, either. ....god, I'm such a boring retard when it comes to pairings.

AND NOW I SLEEP.
Series:
    Bleach - 1 Fanfic
    Fullmetal Alchemist - 6 Fanfics
    Death Note - 1 Fanfic
Prince of Tennis - 4 Fanfics
    Gravitation - 2 Fanfics

- Bleach - Don't Call Me Short by Triste - A/N: If this pairing makes you go, 'omg, liek, WUT?', then I've done my job. XD I know, I know, but give the fic a shot anyway! It's crack, but the best kind of crack. The author is truly talented at coming up with funny dialogue that fits the characters and she walks the line between humor and parody fantastically, creating something that had me laughing the entire way through the story. Ichigo and Hitsugaya's interaction was hilarious here, each snarking at the other, and by the time I was done, I was half-convinced that maybe it wasn't completely impossible after all. Also, the ending was GREAT. XD (Hitsugaya/Ichigo.)

- Fullmetal Alchemist - Attention to Detail by idiosyn - At first glance, Havoc didn't give the impression of an exceptional person. But those that worked with him understood him. One of the best things about a fandom finding its legs is that it gives authors time to explore more pairings and I can start to find the stuff I really want to read. I had no idea what to expect when I started this story (other than that I've really liked the author's ES21 fic) and what I found was fantastic, the author really doing an absolutely fabulous job of making Havoc a more realized character, a good man, the kind of guy that you can see why Hawkeye would be attracted to him. But it was also the hints of lime scattered beautifully throughout the story that put stars in my eyes because they produced lovely images and were gorgeous without really having to be much more than flashes of hands along skin or a sweep of a tongue across a collarbone. *happy sigh* (Havoc/Hawkeye.)

- Fullmetal Alchemist - Battling by idiosyn - *rolls around giggling madly* Okay, the action scene of Ed fighting against Roy was really neat, there are far too few action scenes around these days, but it was also so hysterically Ed and his usual approach to a fight that I was already squee'ing. Then it got to the optional endings and promptly started rolling around the floor in fits of laughter because they were just SO PERFECT. I ♥ the Roy and Ed fighting. XD XD XD (No real warnings/pairings.)

- Fullmetal Alchemist - Eight of Nine by idiosyn - Lieutenant Jean Havoc was not a passionate man. You could call him easy-going. You could call him laid back. Hell, you may even call him apathetic, he just didn't get worked up over much (except for women, he liked those). Another fic that really does a great job with Havoc, making him a little more fleshed out, yet still keeping with the character that I recognize from the screen, but also in the way that it has him interacting with Hawkeye, the way he reacts to her, the way the others in the office react to her, not quite a pairing fic (though, I'm putting it in that catagory anyway), but a beautiful little gem of a moment of insight and interaction between them, with just a hint of guns and marksmanship. I love these two gunbunnies, I really do, and it's fic like this that's why. (Not Havoc/Hawkeye, it's gen, but I'm putting it in that section anyway.)

- Fullmetal Alchemist - First Thing in the Morning by idiosyn - I love funny little fics like this--good writing and it makes me smile/laugh while still somehow popping just crystal clear to mind. Plus, it's one of the better jokes on Roy drinking coffee in the morning that I've read. <3 (No warnings/pairings.)

- Fullmetal Alchemist - Research by Granate - [ part 01 - part 02 - part 03 ] - I'd read the author's Havoc/Hawkeye fic before this (and loved them into tiny, miniscule pieces), but I had no idea she's written Roy/Ed fic, too, or what to expect from it. But I am infinitely glad I did because this is the kind of fic that makes me fall in love with the characters all over again. Well, and it also makes me roll around on the floor in spastic laughter, but. I mean, Ed getting cranky because Roy's so goddamned good at everything and WELL FINE THEN. HE'LL FIND SOMETHING THAT BASTARD'S NOT GOOD AT! Each example of Ed's "tests" to find something Roy isn't good at resulted in brilliant, brilliant (not to mention honest-to-god fucking clever) characterization and hilarity. Each time Roy was smoothly smug about passing some test and Ed was either furious or frustrated or growly about it, evilly devising the next test to put Roy through, it was all so hysterical and adorable to read. The chemistry between the characters was fabulous, this is why I 'ship this pair so hard, because they play brilliantly off each other. I really wish I could have written a better and more coherent rec for this fic, because it really deserves an intelligent response. It's one of those stories that's not just passable or decent, it was a delight to read. (Roy/Ed.)

- Fullmetal Alchemist - Absently Present by Melfice - Oh, well, this was certainly a lovely treat to find that I wasn't expecting. Great writing, excellent flow/pacing, genuinely humorous, and a fantastic Ed narrative. I am quite smitten with the author's characterization of him, from his temper to the things you can admit and the things you just do not go around telling people to the screamingly hilarious bit with the alarm clock (or the pen! XD) to every little instance the author used as an example to illustrate Ed's thoughts. This is one of those stories that just nails the character so perfectly, the kind of story that makes my heart lighter and puts a smile on my face and makes me laugh in all the right places. And his feelings towards the relationship with Roy? Perfect. Denial that's not uncomfortable or overstretched for the reader, but still with genuine feeling underneath that. That is the balance I love with these two. Much love for this fic. (Roy/Ed.)

- Death Note - 30 kisses - themes 1-9 - Misa/L by keraha - I'm not sure why the idea of L/Misa appeals to me, something about the way she doesn't fawn over him, nor is he just using her or fawning over her pretty looks, either. Something about how she has the people skills he doesn't, he has the genius that she doesn't. Keraha writes nine different drabbles (ficlets?) of different little scenarios that I liked. The first one is especially good, but each of them have their little point of interaction betwee them, each of them illustrating or illuminating a tiny moment. I liked the way the kisses were worked in and I just... yeah, I like L/Misa (which was often L/Raito/Misa, though, it had to be) and this was a nice find. (L/Misa, other canon bits.)

- Prince of Tennis - Superfluity by karabana - Often times, as I read a fic, I keep watch for a sentence or two that I'd like to quote that gets across the feel of the fic or is a good indication of why I liked the writing so much and this story really clarified something for me about karabana's writing--I could have easily quoted half of the fic and that's what her writing is like. Whether it be because it was a elegantly written line or because it made me smile or because the insight made me sparkle, there were so many that I just couldn't pick one. And, god, did I adore this story, I think it might just be my favorite, for all that it's about Fuji being sick in bed and Tezuka peeling apples for him. It's quite possibly my favorite because it's so light (while still keeping that depth TezuFuji has) and I could not stop smiling the entire way, for the way I could just picture the smile on Fuji's face or the softened look on Tezuka's and yet it was all so brilliantly in character and still so amazingly SHARP. TezuFuji fic that makes me happy but isn't sappy? Love. You go read now. Is brilliant fic. (TezuFuji.)

- Prince of Tennis - Waterstained by karabana - Thwacks and thunks percuss the rackets, legs and arms swing as bodies twist into calculated positions - Tezuka's lines are powerfully spare and severe like a swordsman's; Fuji's curves are impossible, swirling and beautiful like the flight path of swallows. Tezuka moves like sharp flashes of lightning; Fuji moves like languid shimmering of silk. Together with Anipuri 174, this was a very interesting story to read, my favorite part of it being the feelings of how they play tennis, of how the game effects each of them. It's not just about whacking a tennis ball back and forth, the author really crawls inside the game and the motions and moves of it and made me feel the game, the intensity of these two playing against each other and the massive amounts of undercurrents swirling around, the gorgeousness of these two characters. Plus, lovely imagery and such intensity all the way through. Pretty and a very nice read. <3 (Tezuka/Fuji.)

- Prince of Tennis - Shutter by karabana - Of course, everything else that I say about the author's fic continues to be true here. Just... there's SO MUCH under the surface of the writing, the author captures that depth to the characters, they way they both have that style of saying one thing, but you're not sure what the full implications of it mean, almost confusing in a way, but more like layers over layers over layers that you never seem to get to the end of. This was one of the most impressive of the author's, I thought, because, the sheer level of TezuFuji-ness to this future a few years down the road was just awesome, right down to the way they're so different, but Fuji still notes how they're they same. That part was just brilliant, I thought. Plus, I kinda liked what the author chose for them in the future, even if Tezuka's wasn't exactly what I would have thought for him, it somehow managed to fit here. And, oh. How I fangirl the ending. With hearts and sparkles and sunshing and fucking rainbows. ^_~ (Tezuka/Fuji.)

- Prince of Tennis - Long Autumn by morphaileffect - Oh, my. How to describe this fic. It was... the thing that stands out most for me (aside from the lovely sense these two characters have, of the way they say so little sometimes, but so much is underneath that, even if you don't really know all of what it is) is the way the story balanced the Prince of Tennis animanga feel with this gorgeous imagery that I love so much about TezukaFuji fic. It felt like Prince of Tennis, but it also felt very elegant and lovely, the two elements combining wonderfully here. Which is a strange thing to pick up on, I know. But. Anyway, I also loved, loved, loved the photography imagery, the autumn and leaves imagery, the way their future played out for each of them. I really liked their occupations, where their lives and jobs went, it made sense for both of them, especially when I remembered that Tezuka likes English detective novels. Just... good, well-written, beautiful fic with that same subtle, yet nearly overpowering to me, vibe they have. I'll go flail in the corner now, okay? (Tezuka/Fuji.)

- Gravitation - Theme #7 Superstar by ralphiere - Such a short little fic, yet it does such a fantastic job with the theme. "Superstar" is one of those that fits really well with Gravi, but the author did better than that, she wrote a fic that was still somehow so sharp with the characters. Yuki's reaction to Shuuichi's singing is lovely and visceral, the ending packing quite the punch and it's just good. (Yuki/Shuuichi, maybe not quite work-safe.)

- Gravitation - Puncture by Hawk Clowd - I normally don't go for piercing!fic, as it's not really my kink, but given that I've rec'd, oh, pretty much every single other fic by the author, I figured wotthehell. Funny dialogue-only fic that does a good job of getting the scene across perfectly fine and amuses me greatly for Shuuichi being willing to get a piercing and suffering that pain just fine, but whines and cries when Yuki is the slightest bit rough in bed. Such a Shuuichi thing to do, that. XD (Yuki/Shuuichi.)
