- Full Metal Alchemist - Cat A Lounge [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was a little slow to come around with this site... the art in the regular gallery (versus the comics or whatnot) was cute, but not sure I was in love yet... but THEN I got to the COMICS and EEEEEEEEEEEEEE! My fangirling cannot be contained! Because the artist's strengths really come through--her lines are terrific, very clean and smooth, yet still pretty and detailed. Her Roy looks gorgeous and her Ed is gorgeous and the poses she puts them in (especially when Roy is daydreaming about Ed and actual!Ed picks up on the hentaisa's thoughts and goes ballistic XD) are alternately hysterical and wonderful. But there are also comics like the one of Ed having a bad dream about his mother falling apart (like in the manga) that are heart-wrenching and then there are comics of Roy pulling Ed into his lap and kissing him (not that it ends well for Roy, mind--though, he does get a good amount of kissing time in XD) and then there's the one of Roy giving Ed a hug that's both gorgeous and when the single tear slides down his cheek and the level of detail and subtlty that's conveyed just through their expressions... and just... each and every one of these comics is a gem. I could continue to go on (especially about how amazingly well the artist draws the lines of their hair and eyes, making them look both fantastic and keeping the original style, yet still being so effing PRETTY and how she does the BEST chibi!Roy in shock EVER or the BEST pissed-off!Ed or the most GORGEOUS kisses), but... well, I've fangirled enough. Just... yeah, I'm in love with this site. *wibbles madly* (Roy/Ed.)
- Naruto - Area.325 [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Admittedly, the early art on this site is a little shakey, but once you get further and further into the gallery, the art gets very NICE--there were several illustrations that I squee'd madly over, including some great group illustrations, some fantastic Sasuke illustrations (I think the Sasuke ones may be the best on the site, actually), some adorable KakaIru ones, and even a squee-worthy Naruto and the 4th one. It's one of those sites that isn't really a niche site, it doesn't cater to any particular character or pairing, so it was a lot of fun to go through and see the nice, clean art with the pretty colors. Plus, there was a GREAT Jiraiya in the gift section and I love this artist's Kakashi-sensei deeply. ♥ (No particular pairing/character theme.)
- Naruto - UTD [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I admit that I was a little hesitant on this site at first, because the art was very... round and almost cutesy, even if I loved the artist's sense for colors. But the more and more you get into the gallery... the more I started to fall in love with the art here. The artist does the kind of KakaIru that made me fall for the pairing and the fandom in the first place, just capturing the spirit of the characters I love so much. Fun, action-y, that sense of chemistry/attraction, just... it's hard to explain beyond that. Just the feel I associate with KakaIru that I love so, so, so much. ♥ Plus, her colors are lovely, very sunset-like and warm, which I also love so much. XD And once you get to the oekaki (I think?) section? Gorgeous art. Seriously. Her lines and details are so solid and smooth that they look professional and she draws them in such a myriad of styles and poses that I had stars in my eyes by the time I was done with the site and sad that there was no more for me to go through. Her shading and coloring are amazing, she's just nailed the softer CG style that actually looks like it could have come straight from the series itself in a lot of places, yet... prettier and more detailed, I think. Her illustrations of Kakashi-sensei or Iruka-sensei in mid-action or mid-fighting-pose are just phenominal, they look SO COOL. I really can't express how much fun I had here. Love this site. ♥ (KakaIru, but some gen, too.)
- Death Note/Naruto/Angel Sanctuary/Bleach/Peace Maker/Princess Tutu/Fruits Basket - Uradora [ Cosplay Site ] - Another site that Hinoko pointed me towards and also got me started on a bit of a cosplay kick tonight. >_> I admit... not all of the cosplayers here are perfect, to my mind, but the Death Note ones? Holy mother of god, they were FANTASTIC. Everything about them was amazing--from the clothes to the poses to L and Raito to just everything. L was especially fantastic, the hair and eyes just stunningly perfect. And two things that these cosplayers really have going for them with ANY of the series they cosplay is that 1) their costumes are fantastic (not only do they look like the outfits, but they also look streamlined, rather than clunky, so they look GOOD in the clothes) and 2) their perspectives are fantastic. I mean, it's one thing to have a good costume, it's another to be able to take a picture of the cosplayer that... well, doesn't look like a cosplayer just standing around. These pictures really captured L and Raito VERY WELL, I thought. I also ♥ the Furuba and Bleach and Peace Maker pictures to tiny, tiny pieces. *luffs* (No warnings.)
- Full Metal Alchemist/Prince of Tennis/Gundam SEED/Gravitation/Peace Maker - water [ Cosplay Site ] - This site is much like the previous one, in terms of that I'm not sure the players match their characters, but DAMN did they do a good job on the costumes and the perspectives. Though, some of them are FANTASTIC--I think I squee'd madly at their Shuuichi (OH MY GOD GRAVITATION COSPLAYERS! *SQUEE!*) and their Yuki/Shuuichi pictures. ♥ Their costumes look fantastic (I also liked their Peace Maker/Hijikata a lot, too <3) and the perspectives of the pictures look really good. Their FMA stuff is good as well, and just... there's a sheer TON of cosplay here that just made me GLEE to go through them all. (No warnings.)
